everyone with cai

everyone with cai, id advize u to change to short ram, i was looking at my old hahn one, and i had actual mud, little but, but still, stuck inside the pipe on the rubber part close to turbo (brain fart, cant remember the name of those things lol) ya i guess sucking in dust and water from car wash or road = mud build up eventually, dont want ur engine eating that.

I never have run a CAI in my life. People always gripe about them all over the place, like omg a WAI intake youll lose power! you lose about 4hp on a 90 degree day but thats to be expected!

I had two friends in high school hydrolock engines, i said id never have a CAI again after that. And ive switched back and forth, and a true CAI with the filter outside the engine compartment didnt make a big enough difference to warrant the risk.

That's cause you don't have room. The navy is already in there.

Sure it's not blow by?

If there is no "mud" right behind the filter it is probably oil from the braided line coming from the valve cover.

If it's blow by get this:

Oil Catch Cans - MPx Oil Catch Can 08-10 Cobalt SS

It wasn't blowby, I do live down a very dusty gravel road though. And my filter got nasty, had to clean it 2 to 3 times a year. It wasn't much mud, but any is to much, and ya I'm guessing there was also oil mixed in there which is what kept it stuck to the side. Piping was clean, just the coupler where the bend is is where it accumulated

i guess people with an Injen CAI could always just take the extended tube off and have a short ram intake instead

Just add a K&N drycharger. It's a water resistant cover over the filter. K&N part RF-1030 fits the Hahn.
