Aftermarket radiators

I need a new radiator, as mine is cracked. I have searched for OE and aftermarket with not much luck, are all cobalt radiators the same? I'd really like to replace it with an aluminum aftermarket one.

Anyone know where to find em?

I know this is an old post.. but my radiator got cracked the other day going into a car wash lol.. of all the things.. anyways, I picked up a replacement today and it's this spectra one that you have linked here.. What I'm wondering is, it's a 0.88" thick core whereas the stocker is 1.02".. wouldn't this make a difference in cooling or be minimal or possibly better? It seems strange to me since most match the factory size exactly, but this one has a 2 year warranty whereas most have 1 year, except for another brand which has a 5 year warranty. This isn't going to cause any issues with cooling now is it?

No.. not possible unless I just let the car sit until somebody makes some mythical radiator lol. Car's currently in pieces and I've already bought the Spectra radiator.. I hope it's ok, but I really have no alternative at this point so it's going in tonight.

hold on, I have a pic

Its a secret though shhhhhhh!.....

OEM quality. factory fit. Which reminds me.... I should go measure the old radiator and the new one and see if they are indeed the same size. They look it but I dont remember.

Oh and and just to point out, there will NEVER be an oversized aftermarket radiator made for the cobalt SS. It doesnt make sense. If you make an oversized one that utilizes the factory mounts and works for the SS T/C and the NA ones, it wont fit the S/C'd ones... factory heat exchanger in the way. You would then need to develope new hinges and mounts to move everything forward and the cost associated...well.... nobody will every pay for it.

I'm a little concerned about my coolant temps now that I have a bigger IC. I'll find out in June when I'm on track.

I was told 2-3 months and it will be available to the public. Its fun watching the coolant temps jump when starting from idle to rolling. lol. At idle my temps climb but as soon the car starts moving (say 5mph...) the temps drop rapidly to </=180*F. If I beat on the car a bit they wont drop as far but its still neat.

I dont think ive ever seen my factory radiator fluctuate the temperature like that. lol. Im pretty sure this is an effective piece.

My car may look really plain, but its going to be a star in 2-3 months They used my car for the install video and tech support. Its going to be like watch the surgery video post-operation. I would hope they get this thing out by July while its still hot out.

You made my day with all that.

If it is indeed out by July, I'm buying it ASAP.
