You could always go with a side exit exhaust from Jannetty Racing. Be careful though because I think you can throw a code from that.

To op... Leave the downpipe on and take off the rest of the exhaust... "Backfire" as you call it occures when a throttle butterfly is snapped shut on old carbs... The air would stop flowing but raw fuel would still be pouring into the cylinders from the carb. This fuel would not completely burn until it hit the headers which makes your "backfire" noise. This doesn't work on most streetable fuel injected cars these days.

If you want more "backfire" to come from the exhaust, I would tell ya to get the JR side exit and keep your catless dp

I promise you will shoot atleast 1 flame with it lol

Or just trade his car for a honda with a piece of **** ebay special fart can... All you hear is bbbbbrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeee anyways so once you go deaf you won't care about a "backfire" anyways.

Most of the time my car afterfire's too much for my taste..... I've even contemplated putting the stock DP back on just to get rid of it . I hate the random gunshot sound i get from time to time shifting from 1st to 2nd .

You should throw the stock exhaust back on with the cat-less down pipe. I went with Hahn to quiet my car down, the stock exhaust was a little to loud for my taste. But it sure was fun doing no-lift shifts, it sounded like a shotgun blast lol.

The Hahn catback is quieter than the stocker? Thats the only reason I haven't considered a catback ....I figured it would be louder..... and my car is already too loud for my taste .

In my opinion yes, its definitely quieter driving around and it gives the exhaust a deeper tone. I've had it for about 1,000 mi. and it seems to have gotten quieter or maybe I'm just getting used to it.lol
