F23 to LNF parts list

Theres a couple different ways you could do this, I’ll write how I did it.

4.17 F23 from a junkyard 2007 base model HHR
Team Green lsd insert
4h tech short shifter arm
ottp short throw shifter
gm f23 cables
ottp stage 3 F23 mounts
ottp braided clutch line
F35 tob, clutch pipe and distribution block
F35 clutch
royal purple synchromax
2000 grand am 5 speed axle for drivers side
2000 grand am auto cv+1995 isuzu j body intermediate shaft for passenger side. (You can use the 2000 5 speed grand am long boi without issue).

Youll have to shave the block a bit if you use the equal length axles. (You might not have to if you use a vue intermediate shaft and hhr ss auto cv with a .25” spacer)

I launched at 6k on slicks a few times last weekend and i hooked hard, it survived that and drove 3 hours home through toronto traffic

I was under the impression that a transmission spacer was needed for the bell housing to properly clear the pressure plate... is that just the stock spacer that came with the car? Or did you not even have that issue?

I see no mention of needing to change the Thermostat housing - that might be a uniquely LSJ problem though, as I know the two are different.

Also, is that sealer around where the distro block is? I'm assuming that's a homebrew solution?

I didnt use any spacer at all. Stock LNF thermostat. And yes, you need to slightly bend the clutch pipe to fit through the hole in the top of the tranny

Thank you @OSHAWAHHRSS this has been incredible helpful as i'm swapping to an F23 with a Quaife LSD from an F35 on my DF Goblin.

I ordered the Grand Am Manual driver side axle (O'Reillys GM8142) but I'm running into an issue sourcing the correct part numbers for the passenger side. Ideally I'd have the Grand Am automatic CV and the J-Body intermediate shaft - could I trouble you for the part numbers? Do I use the stock F35 intermediate shaft mount from the F35 with the two parts above?

The long boi PN from O'Reilly's is 60-1337 but I'll use that as a last resort

Thanks in advance!

i dont have part numbers for the intermediate shaft. But it came from a 1983-89 isuzu aska with the F23. I used the mount that came with it and an adapter plate. You could probably get away with using a vue intermediate shaft and hhr ss cv shafts with a goblin. Does the quaife lsd directly interchange between F23 and F35? I used a team green lsd insert, but on my 3.63 tranny I’ll be using a wavetrac

@OSHAWAHHRSS the F35 LSD will not directly swap to the F23 unfortunately as they are different sizes. Did you have to do anything for the speedometer?

I swapped over the F23 speedo ring to the Quaife and updated the FD and vss pulses per mile in HPTuners and she's still off (reference links below).
