F35 SS/TC Tranny w/LSD Fluid
So Im a GM A Certified Mechanic and the fluid for our F35 with lsd is not stocked or available anywhere. I have been fighting with GM Since begining of January and they cant get me the fuild i need to do the warranty work on my transmission. Im ready to file a complain to the head office in detroit with all the **** we have to go through with our ss/tc. If they are going to make a dam car then stock the dam parts to fix them!! My dealership ownb owns 10 GM dealerships and is siding with me. We come arosss the same **** with the new camaros and some corvette parts.
Also FYI SS/SC fluid is different from SS/TC fluid. There is friction modifiers in the SS/TC fluid for the NLS which is why the fluid is 27$CAN/quart

Did you try calling another dealership to see if they could send you the fluid? If anything, would it be possible to just fudge the paperwork slightly, or do you have to write down exactly what fluid you used? If you don't have to be extremely specific, you could just use a non GM fluid that is close. You could also ask to see who the oil is made by and contact them directly.
I hate to say it, but good luck with GM on part shortages. Post bailout GM has had many part shortage issues.

No, its an extremely specific fluid. It's actually a good upgrade for any SS/SC owner.

The shortage of this fluid must be new. I have purchased it at my local dealership on 2 seperate occasions. I am 100% certain that it was the right fluid, I ordered and verified that it was the P/N listed in the Owners Manual as well as what was already mentioned in this Thread. They had to order it in a quantity of 6 quarts each time, but they sold me the 2 quarts that I needed. Hopefully it wont be hard to come by from here on.

This gear oil is identified in GM documentation as a synthetic 75W-85 GL-4. Google or Bing that and you will find many other resources and manufacturers of this gear lube.
Ppl think you can just swap around fluid but no u can not alway do that. some situations u can. The ss/sc fluid is different from the ss/tc fluid. Ive heard many times of ppl running the ss/tc fluid in their ss/sc tranny's but id never rune the ss/sc fluid in the ss/tc tranny. As for what happened to my tranny is nothing major besides loosing all the fluid throught the case half seal as well as the axle seals. No damage at all to tranny, i notice immediatly and stropped driving it the level was down slighly may be a quarter of a quart or less but i need the fluid to refill the tranny now that its all resealed and back in car. I dont know if its just a gm issue with getting the fluid or if its everywhere but i hav enot check local parts places or oil dealers as for it has to be gm oil as for its WARRANTY and gm will not pay for it if it not the gm product.
I got a rental from gm they are paying for but i want my car i go into work everyday and see it sitting in me compound all day n night long.
Id imaging u can get the grade of oil from other local retailers of different brand. But i only will ever run gm lubricants and gm recommended lubricants in their transmissions. Gm recommends and uses certain lubricants for a reason because the manufacturer of the tranny for gm specificly asignd that fluid for a reason not for games and market scams. With all that said y would i pay 60 buck for 2 quarts of fluid thats isnt even gm and threaten my warranty for running a non recommended fluid. also gm is paying for the replacement fluid so.

I know it's across the border for you, but did you check with gmpartsdirect.com? They list it on their site, although they don't actually say if it's in stock or not. Best of luck. I hope I don't have this issue when it comes time to change my tranny fluid.
