Faulty Crankshaft Position Sensor ?

Hey Guys, I got weird crank position sensor going on. I got my car about a month ago and everything is fine. Until 3rd week I have check engine light come on, I went to Auto Zone and have them check with their scanner. They told me I have bad crankshaft position sensor, I haven't have time to do this cause it was cold. I can do this myself cause I have whole bunch of tools! LOL! Then the next morning my check engine light went away, I was confused said Ok that's weird. Then few days later or a week later came back on and that drives me nuts! Like what's going on with this car!? I was saying to myself has this car gone retard ? LOL! No, I know it's not. This is driving me crazy! I was thinking to myself could it be bad O ring ? Or the sensor itself ?

They leak oil internally and start to short out, be thankful your car hasn't started shutting off yet. Once they fail the car will not run, so change it now rather than later. Very common failure item, easy to change, one 10mm bolt holding it in just under the oil filter housing over the starter.

This. I didn't notice the signs for a failing CKP and I ended up having my car shut off on me multiple times on the highway.

Change it ASAP

there is a quick discoonect between the actual sensor and the connector that can get extremly dirty or get a short in it, i had this problem as well read one thread about just cutting out the quick disconnect i honestly dont see a reason for it but wutever i brought a new senor and worked out fine just thought i let you know potential issues.
