Fix your oil leaks, or kill your clutch

While my trans was off, I got a good look at the rear of the engine, and the inside of the trans bell housing. Mine was covered in years old oil sludge. It was from the oil leak at the HPFP, and camshaft seal. I had mine fixed fairly promptly when I noticed them, but it still left a god awful mess in there, right where the clutch is. It could have quite easily contaminated the stock flywheel and/or friction plate, and contributed to its demise. A shame, since I actually really liked it.

Thankfully those leaks were patched up before I swapped to my KY clutch. It looks clean. Wish the guy that swapped my clutch before would have told me about this. Would have been nice to know. We were looking around for a while trying to figure out what the mess was from. I thought I punched a hole through the trans at first. Nope, just shattered 3rd

Yeah. I picked up an HHR SS LSD trans. 4.05 for me now. It's great, but I keep trying to shift it one more gear on the highway. Oops.

Not a massive increase in RPM, but it's noticeable.

I had a ton on mine at stock power levels. Did you do it tuned? And if memory serves me correctly you have a rather conservative tune designed for road racing??

I did most of it on a tune. More than GMS1, less than every single street tune I've seen so far. Kept the high RPM trail off to promote NLS compatibility.

Try 4.45 gearing. 100 MPH is 4k rev’s in 5th. It really makes me want a 6th gear lol.

With a ZFR you accidentally hit 100 without noticing. The car pulls to 130 without any problem. It’s pretty dangerous, but I didn’t want to risk blowing my trans up.

You haz LSJ with 4.05. You only need salt over your shoulder.
