forge bpv..

Just installed my forge bpv took it for a couple pulls, 2nd gear holds 18-19 psi, all the others about 19-20.. just thought that was odd cause usually holds 20-21 throughout the gears.. any thoughts? And with normal driving when I let off the gas therres an ongoing psshhhh noise quiet but lasts about 3-4sec and I know it didn't do that before.. is that cause of the forge? Also green spring is in the forge.

yea the lengthened psshhhhh is normal, lol.

as for the boost thing, im not sure.
I know you should match your spring based on the amount of vacuum you pull and not the psi your pushing. have you tried the yellow spring? see if you get turbo flutter. If so switch back.

I think the extended Psssshhhh is kinda cool.
You drive by someone and make a quick psh. They look but are unsure what they might have heard.... but when you go PssssSSSSsshhhhhhhhhhh, thats like a "Yup you heard it and are still hearing it, turbo. lol."

I'm on green as well. I was thinking of trying yellow just to see, or adding a shim or 2 to the green to see the affects.

From what i gather is the green spring is made for stock boost cars. If you have any kind of tune or upped the boost any then the yellow would be a good idea. Plus it says that on the little bag that the yellow spring is in. lol

This is not correct. Even with a tune, I would say 99% of people on here are using the green spring (and I use the 1% just to cover my ass for the 1 person that may be using yellow)

What vaccuum are you guys getting after warm up at idle? Should be around 20" HG.
Same with lifting off boost.

I think the sound comes from release of air through the open slot in the piston chamber, which always remains butted up against the open port in the turbo. Stock simply pulls the whole valve off the open port in the turbo.

I hope not! That would mean it's not releasing enough boost on time.
