I was watching the vid again. At the end you talk about flutter dumping. My stock BPV does that ALL THE TIME. Particularly as rpms climb while throttle position doesn't. For example, accelerating normally and as I approach 3K rpm just before shifting it starts dumping. Or cruising between 75-80mph.. it flutter dumps.

My THEORY is.... and anyone is welcome to input.

As we see in the vid, the Forge one is a solid piece with a piston with a smooth, guided action. The stock one is a fairly loose diaphragm. I believe the stock one may be tilting. Where the face of it usually seals like this ]
It has the wiggle room in there to go like this / or \ .
Like I said, it happens when I'm just barely in vacuum. In the Forge, because of it's design it can ONLY move STRAIGHT back and STRAIGHT forward. That did go away for me with the Dejon spring upgrade but then I had major part throttle turbo surge, which of course is no good.

See what I'm saying? Does that make sense to anyone else besides me?

Oh so that's flutter dumping? I can make mine do that if I'm 0.1psi slightly slightly release the gas pedal. It doesn't do it every time but it will open and close in rapid succession about three times almost as if it doesn't know if it should be open or closed.

don't know if it was asked , but how will this effect people with a switchable tunes, you say in your review if your not pushing 20 psi use the green spring. but how will the car act with the yellow spring on a stock tune?

just use the green spring for both. From what I understand, people with tunes are using the green spring anyways.

ok, heres the deal with these guys. you want to use the LOWEST spring first, thats the green spring. This spring is typically good into the low 20psi range. ONLY if you start leaking boost, or the DV is not holding boost pressure do you upgrade to the next (yellow) spring.

i understand how they work and function im well aware of that, but my question wasn't answered will the car function correctly on a stock tune with the yellow spring that was my question...not that i will be the one trying it hahaa, but im just throwing that out there because im curious. Im not looking for a paper answer i'm wondering if anybody has physically tried it lol

uhmmm let me try explaining it differently. If you arent providing enough pressure to operate the piston, it will perpetually remain closed. So, if you are using the yellow spring, and are on stock tune, you probably wont be creating enough pressure to operate the piston.

you guys...you cant just ASK if X works with Y. This is a new product. You need to test with YOUR own car to see how your car, with your mods will react to the spring/shim change. So start with green spring, see if you get flutter, then add a shim and check, data logging as well. Try a yellow, data log and check. it isnt a cut and paste for everyone, it will differ.
