Shell URT Advanced

The good stuff is made by Shell. It's called URT Advanced and although Shell touts it as a 110 octane unleaded, it has gone head to head vs. VP C16 (116 LEADED) and beat it.
Some videos of it are here: www.youtube.com/partsgrabber

It's also a dense fuel (.78 specific gravity), so fuel pressure/pump problems are a non issue.
You can also mix 50% Shell URT advanced with 50% pump 93 and it's still 105 octane.

The only 3.7 V6 mustang in the 10's runs this stuff, all the fastest GT500's run it, etc....
Shelby runs it 50/50 with pump gas in the Shelby 1000.
This is a video of it being run by Evolution Performance: http://www.youtube.com/embed/QHxEUA0W7nQ

You can adjust the mix accordingly or run the shell straight up. The unique quality with this fuel is the tight burn rate: Most high octane leaded race fuels come with an ultra slow burn which can cause idle/drivability issues and loss of low end torque unless your setup is optimal for 116.

It doesn't matter with the shell fuel, as it will actually make power on a stock timing curve, yet take more boost and timing than 116 leaded. (You can't over-octane with it; it's all about an engineered burn rate) and it's finally getting to the point where you can get this stuff nearly anywhere.

Hey guys. Guess who I'm impersonating here:

I know everything. You suck.

You're wrong. I'm right.

Want me to tell you a better solution? Too bad. I'm not gonna.

You have a problem and I could help you fix it but I'm not gonna.

I know a better way to do that but I'm not gonna tell you.

I go on forums and say I could contribute but then I don't.

I have tons of knowlege but I won't share.

This and that person/company you depend on is not as good as what I could offer... but I'm not offering anything.

I could make your car faster, more efficient and more reliable than anyone else but I won't. I could tell you how to do it but it's too complicated for your feeble little mind so I won't even bother. I suppose I could simplify things and work with you but I won't. Remember when you called me a Poo Poo face? Yeah, that still hurts my feelings so you're SOL.

You're like a starving Ethiopian child and I have food. I would share with you but not unless you can give me the chemical makeup of each bite. Oh, and the food that you're getting from those infomercial guys is tainted. I could tell you a way to make it safer and healthier but I won't. I'll be back tomorrow to tell you this again.... if you haven't starved to death by then.

I totally understand the "No more email crap" for LSJ's. You really have to be there in person to watch a lot of parameters that otherwise on the LNF is doable through emails using HP tuners. I know someone out here with a tune of yours. She is selling it soon though and getting a C6 Vette.

I'm well aware of this stuff but it's impossible to find.

lol.... Honestly, out of fairness here, why would he want to help a community that beats the snot out of him all the time for being a "know it all"? He has shared oppinions, facts, points of view, and results in the past, but he gets jumped all over for alot of the time due to having contrary thoughts on the false information that floats around here at times that everyone holds onto like the bible. Now I'm not saying that he's always right in the way he goes about things most of the time, but there's really only so much abuse you can take without immediately going on the defensive or just out right having a sour taste in your mouth. He stirs the pot just enough to get everyone's hackles up and juices flowing. For good or for bad, he does get results.... lol

I know the guy is extremely smart and capable but it's just snowballing. Somewhere along the line he got pissed and has since then been paying it forward and receiving more negative responses and so on.

It doesn't look like GMTech will even help people who never wronged him in the past.

All I see is trolling. Either contribute or GTFO.

Hahahahaha. You guys are funny. You all don't know if you're coming or going half the time. One minute it's... "Go kill yourself, we all hate you here and you don't know ****" And then the next minute it's... "Can you tune my car?", "Can you give me a super cool config file?", "Will you look at my logs and tune and tell me everything I ever needed to know about them?", "Can you fix my brakes?", "Do you live near me so I can bring my car over so you can fix it?", "Will you give me a super good tune and if it puts down a certain hp I'll send you some money?". Faaaakkkkkkk. Are you kidding?

I was being sarcastic when I asked if you all wanted me to start with giving you an LNF config file. Geez, I thought I was the village idiot that didn't know anything? You all tell me to GTFO but then ask me for everything under the sun and then get mad when I don't immediately post up tunes, logs and config files? Honestly, you guys take the cake.

Here is the reason I post on here occasionally, and I've said this before... I post comments on here when I see something that is grossly wrong or just plain ridiculous. Obviously that's gonna make the person or vendor saying those things a little unhappy. If they have little tiny ego's, it's gonna make them REALLY unhappy because they know deep down they're wrong and just can't handle someone exposing their ignorance in public. I posted in Vince's HPFP thread because what he was saying was completely wrong. The whole basis of his idea was incorrect and honestly ridiculous. That thread got closed after about 100 negative (and downright nasty) posts were thrown at me. Every word I said turned out to be true in the end. Vince never came on there and said a word because he knew he couldn't defend his false statement. At least he's smart enough to not to enter a discussion that he knows he's gonna lose or doesn't have the knowledge to discuss things at a certain level.

In another thread awhile back, I said something that contradicted what Matt from ZZP said, and again, the ZZP clan members came out in force to see how badly they could trash me. After ONE OF THE CSS.NET MODERATORS swore at me and told me to basically go kill myself, the thread was deleted and that moderator is no longer a moderator. I've said some harsh things, I'm no angel and never said I was, but what that moderator said to me was so insanely inappropriate it was unbelievable. That moderator has a huge ZZP banner in his sig, I wonder if that's why he was so obnoxious when I dared to say something ZZP sold was not a good thing? lol.

I help and share everything I know more than probably 90% of you guys on here. I help guys out everyday at work, in my neighborhood, in my family, friends, in emails texts and PM's and online. I had a mother and a father that were hella smart and taught me a ton. I learned long ago from both of them that knowledge is worthless if you don't use and share it. I've had dozens of people in my life tell me I should be a teacher. I feel I pretty much am, I just don't get paid for it. (just like teachers actually. lol) I've tried to share on here, it's just too hard and honestly there's a few guys on here that I have such a lack of respect for I'd rather not share anything with them. I've said this before, and I'll say it again now... If you want to learn from me, just venture out of this dungeon of sub-human existence and maybe you'll gain some brainpower yourselves. You can't learn when the information is either just plain wrong or non existent. Or if all guys want to do is fight instead of listening and learning. Unfortunately I think some of you guys on here just need a few more years to grow up.

I've actually never said anything negative to you before, actually I don't think I've ever said anything period. I made my comment because you said you could probably pull another 50hp out of a 350 hp tune... I have no idea what is or isn't wrong with the posted log, but this car (lnf) has now been around for 5 years and I have yet to see a 400 hp dyno sheet ( stock turbo). That's why I was pretty interested in getting that file ... And to respond to your comment about super good tune and sending money , I'm not sure why you would mock that since this is what you claimed you could produce... All it would take for people hating on you to stop is one video of a members car , you, that person and a dyno session

Good post. Just curious was the ZZP thread when they first came out with their 5th injector?

Now I understand your confusion GMTech. You see all of the individuals on this forum as one entity. Sometimes people say nice things. Sometimes they don't. Some people are respectful. Others aren't. If you treat everyone on a forum as "you guys," you're not gonna get anywhere. You can't treat one guy like ass because some other guy pissed you off. Santa keeps a long list of who's naughty and who's nice and the naughty kids don't get presents. Consider yourself Santa and your knowlege/contributions as presents. You could keep a logbook of people you do and don't like. Maybe you could grade them on a point scale of 1-5. You could hate 5s and love 1s. If you've never dealt with someone just start them out with a 3. If someone says something you don't like, knock 'em down a number. Then if they kiss your ass, raise 'em up a notch.

Also, you said you only come in here and post up when you see something that is wrong. That just doesn't work if it's not followed up with some constructive criticism, insight and/or some kind of pointing in the right direction. If you see someone doing something wrong and just point it out to them and say you're the only one who knows how to do it right but you're only gonna say it's wrong, then there is no point in saying anything at all. Only popping in to point out flaws just breeds negativity.

My suggestion (and this is only me) would be to only point out problems if you intend to be part of the solution.

If you're helping, then I'm just not seeing it. Every time I see your posts it's negative and veers away from the original topic and usually involves bashing ZZP, Vince or HPTuners.... basically everyone but yourself.

Ha Ha I agree but enjoy all the side shows none the less.

Hey everyone,

I've been part of this forum since I had a SS/TC back in 08. i unfortunately had the Cobalt for a solid 10 months before totalling it(I do miss Ron Burgundy). Anyways, even though I have moved on to a Kappa, I haven't left this forum because...lets be honest vender and the Cobalt community as a whole push the LNF even after its been put out of production. On the Kappa side of the house we only have small group of maybe 30-35 Kappa's doing big performance builds. John is a knowledgable guy, hands down and we all know that. He has stated many times to venture out, why not give it a try? I welcome all of you to visit our forums like Kappaperformance, Skyroadster and Solstice forum. I think 1.) you guys would see a lot of cool bigger turbo builds and Antonio's Compound turbo setup(Who isn't excited about that!) and 2.) right now on Kappaperformance your guys input on a brembo conversion that has been in the works would greatly benefit from the Cobalt community where we are soucing them from(Most not all). HP tuner's forum also has a lot of articles that John has written(Just randomely too) holding great info that would be a great read. There is currently one with GMtech providing logs regarding the benefit of having a full tank of gas. So I hope to see some of you guys over there learning and contributing. Be aware, yes, its an older crowd and most post will be about body kits and Brake pad questions and "What do you think about this gas door" LOL. Kappaperformance I think most of you will enjoy. Believe me John LOL gives me ****(I look at it as constructive criticism) all the time when I have asked questions. Through all that though he still provided info after that was very helpful.

John, I know how you feel and all but give the guys a preview of what you have been to me and others that know you a little better. I mean I was taught growing up(and its kinda hard sometimes) that if you would like to see a change in someone, try changing or modifying something of yourself to see what happens(Reap from what you sow). Help out and see what the outcome might be. I mean, people have said things here that have kinda made you back off but as you mentioned to me when we once bumped heads "I don't take things on a forum personally" well don't take things personal here. Anyways, hope to see you guys around sometime. The brembo thread is one I'm insterested right now in doing.

PS: Fresh out of the Oven, if you go to HP tuners Forum you'll find an article that you all were asking about. As it has been said, venture out and see for yourself. Go to the LNF section and you'll see.

Here's a related helpful professional post from a guy claiming to be GMTech but.... it can't be. It's too polite. LOL. Pretty sure this is the post 40rty was eluding to.

Super Cool LNF Config File... - HP Tuners Bulletin Board

Seriously, it's like a whole different person is posting on the HPTuners site.

Like I've said on here before... "When in Rome".
For those of you that don't know what that means, Google the quote. Basically I've talked and treated people in here as others have done on here for years, with almost no respect in either direction. Yes, of course you can't stereotype every single person in a forum the same way, but this forum has a HUGE percentage of immature males with a little too much testosterone and not enough experience in dealing with strangers as adults. Take a look at some of the posts in this thread and tell me how mature some of these comments are-

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-0l...ml#post6501037

Take a look at my count of negative vs. positive posts, over 116 negative posts in that thread alone. Yeah, I come off as a sm@rt @ss on here a lot of the time, but that's because threads like that "hmmm" thread are the norm on here. Damn, Matt from ZZP has destroyed more threads than anyone in any forum I've ever seen, hands down! Until this forum deals with guys like that, or gets rid of them all together, it will always get nasty and disrespectful in here. I've tried to bring some of this stuff up to the mods, if it wasn't for me, you'd still have a certain mod that harassed and swore at members and got away with it. That's also part of the problem, what's the average age of the moderators on here? It's gotta be pretty young. I'm not saying age is the answer, it certainly helps young males simmer down and act a little better though. I'd like to go forward 20 years and have some of these guys read what they've written in here when they were young and foolish, they'd be shocked.

As far as being a different person on the HPT site, nope, it's still me. I use the same screen name on every (car) site I'm on, I have nothing to gain by making different names to hide behind. Believe me, you guys have NO idea what kind of person I really am. Again, the reason for that is the level of respect and maturity there. There is NO FRIGGIN' WAY a thread like the "hmmmmm" one would be tolerated on that site. And it shouldn't be. I like that site, and the others 40rty mentioned, because for the most part they're filled with mature, rational adults that like to learn and discuss instead of fighting.

Thanks for the few constructive comments a few of you have made, it makes me think there's still hope for this forum!

The problem John, as I see it, you seem to be a common denominator in the threads that go south. You really do rub people the wrong way. That's just how it is. I haven't been a member here as long as you but I do know that the first few posts you made after I had joined really painted a not so pretty picture of who I perceive you to be. I dunno where it started from and I don't care but when you are here, you really do come off like a jerk.

On the HPTForums you're a very different person. I like you over there. I've been a member for some time now on that forum.

Cest la vie...
