fuel trims

so what do u look at on the dashdaq or whatever device for fuel trims? LTFT1, LTFT2, STFT? or all of them?

I got the hahn cai and am getting LTFT1 of 2% goes to 3 sometimes and LTFT2 is -100 and it seems stuck there cause it dont move, even if the car is off its -100.

you don't have ltft2 because you only have one bank of cylinders since you're a 4 cylinder

Yes, but they will drift a few % with temp and humidity, fuel ethanol content, ect.

so why are alot of guys saying they are way off with aftermarket intakes?? mine is like 3% at most, even on stock tune. would the fact that i run 94 octane with 10% ethanol cause it to be better?

LTFT1 is what you want. My trims are fucked b/c of my cracked intercooler. took forever to narrow it down. Boosting the same, drives good, only thing i notice is the BPV is quiet as hell which i didnt notice since i had an HKS hooke dup and it blew off loud as hell, but with stock pipes any BPV noise with a hahn intake is almost non existant.

How bad did your trim's get when you had the cracked intercooler? Mine can vary from between -7 to -1 LTFT depending on the weather.

My BPV is so inconstant about noise ..... even in the same gear at the same PSI ....sometimes you can hear it other times you hear nothing . The majority of the time you cant hear anything ....it's been that way since it was new . Thx Gestapo

my LTFT's with a tune that works on my buddy's car brings mine to -16-20. Weather does effect it, my buddy's is -1 after Matt's tune, same one on my car. if were in traffic or it rains or something itll fluctuate a bit.

I made sure my Hahn was tight and clamped in right and my filter was good, then i put a block of plate on and only ran my HKS and it fluttered horribly but never fluttered running both HKS and BPV. So i put stock Charge Pipes on to make sure there was no leaks in my piping or BOV, and trims remained the same. Removed my cold side pipe to check if there was a hole in it that rubbed in from a bolt or something, and it was fine. Had some1 rev up the car and I put my head by the cold side tank of the intercooler and i heard the blow off noise coming from the intercooler.

^This is right on the money.

I've got a Dashdaq that I monitor STFT and LTFT on. I'll post up the Dashdaq's names for them next time I'm in the car.

Oh yeah, and for future reference: IAT1 and IAT2 are flip-flopped.

and fuel trim bank 1 - short term
