Fumoto oil drain valve size?

I can't find any threads about folks using a Fumoto drain valve. I've had them on multiple cars and prefer them over a normal bolt. It's less messy, and makes oil changes even faster.

Anyone know the right size?

It's not that hard, but there's a better, neater way to do it. Do you light fires with two sticks? Go right ahead, I'll use a match.

I have better things to do than to fetch the old bolt off the drain pan, and replacing the crush washer. In addition, I don't have to worry about messing up the threads in the oil pan, or snapping the bolt.

Well, so that's part of the reason I posted. I found the part numbers on the site, but some cars can't use the nozzle for one reason or another. Sounds like we need the adapter for sure.

I'll pick one up too, but if someone could confirm fitment when they change their oil, that would be great. I'm only 700 miles into the car.

Thanks,
Warren

For the sake of arguement I can c how it's easier. But I guess it comes down to personal preference...i don't mind spending a extra 2 mins on a oil change

Would love to get one of these... that is the first mod done on our other cars and it is extremely worthwhile.... If someone could just verify the parts and fitment I will get one of these for sure...

Back from the dead. I installed the Fumoto valve during my first oil change last weekend. I can't believe there are folks that said using the stock bolt was fine and needed no improvement. There were 2 streams of oil coming from the pan. One a trickle, and the other was gushing as expected.

With the valve, you can control how much it's open, or you can hook up a hose, and put it directly into an oil container. Not a drop spilled.

Word of advice, get extra washers from a parts store. It comes with paper like washers, but you'll want to add washers to make the valve turn upwards. This will protect the valve from ever being the low point. Right now mine is clocked the wrong direction. I'll have to add another washer the next time I change the oil.

Edit: Yes, you need the adapter. It isn't so much that the pan threading is recessed, it's that the threading on the valve is wrong, so you need the adapter to change the thread size.

That's funny, my always says "get off the ******* internet and get back to work"

but seriously, I have to get out my socket set either way to get the oil filter out so this isn't a big change, plus I have a car lift so it's not hard.

I don't think I ever posted a pic, so here it is:

I picked up an extra set of copper washers so that I could get the valve handle to turn the direction that I want.

I don't use an oil pan when I change my oil. I put a hose on this, and put it straight into an oil recycle container.

Very nice...I still have a brand new one that I was gonna use on my Toyota Camry (now gone).
If you change your own oil, it's definitely the way to go.
