Gas additives
Gas additives
Ok here is the question. I have read the threads about how our DI engines build up a lot of carbon. I would like to avoid getting to the place of needing to do the seafoam thing. Are there any additives that can be put in the gas that would truly clean the carbon and keep it from building up. I looked in the store and there are so many to choose from, who knows which one works. I have heard that techron is suppose to be good.

From what I understand nothing (gas additives) is good! The only solution is to use Gumout (same method as seaform, not in gas tank) once a year or Seafoam once a year.
I also read that seafoaming too much is bad
Then I read seafoaming in general is bad.
Then I read Not seafoaming is bad.
So I'd say go with your gut.

Gas doesn't see the valves so adding much to the gas tank won't do much.
We have seen a few people lose injector seals, did we ever determine if that was due to E85, seafoam or bad luck?
