GM certified deal dodging work for a simple tune

I popped in to the only GM certified dealer in Anchorage and tried to see about getting a GMS1 tune.

Is it normal for them to give you the run around?

I'm in the air force and this guy seemed full of crap and to just want to beat around the bush and not take me seriously, stating they had only 1 tech with experience and he had only done a few tunes he was out for a few weeks and wouldn't be back, didn't want to do any further tunes without more experience etc etc

Whats up with that?

Pretty normal in the grand scheme of things they didnt make many.if you have a warranty and want gms1 try finding a dealer with more experience. If that is the power level and simplicity your looking for call zzp and get their equivalent canned tune for less than a third the price and it just an ecu swap and relearn. Otherwise take that money to a reputable hp tuner and get a real tune.

yeah thats what i'm ultimately doing, I even offered to buy the kit from ced and bring it in myself and the guy looked at me like I had two heads.

I just didn't want to send my core in and be without the car I figured bring it to the dealer and be in and out guess I will just have to suck it up since the stealership is playing dumb.

I would go aftermarket but I'm keeping the car stock no bolt ons to keep with the warranty so there no point in getting anything other than a tune 15psi is just really weak for me, my tiburon with I/H/E tune, plugs & stage 2 clutch just felt like it pulled harder even with that short 1st gear
