GM Factory tunes?
GM Factory tunes?
Does GM offer any tunes for the 2010 ss/tc?
if so is any one running it and can give me some info on it?
cost? what does it change(part wise)? how much does improve the HP/TQ #s? how bad does it hurt the fuel economy(mpg)?
most importantly is it in your opinion worth it?

It's the only tune that will not void the warranty, it's good for around 30 hp, 50 tq iirc.
It's a different program & op system for the ECU along with 2 MAP 3 BAR sensors. One in the intake manifold and the other in the lower charge pipe. The cost varies, you can buy the sensors & certificate from crateenginedepot.com for around $480 and the dealer will charge you a few hours labor to install it. Not all dealers will do the install & flash. Find one that will first, you might want to buy the kit through them to save a hassle getting it installed.
It won't hurt the mileage unless you have it floored all the time, cruise calibrations of the tune are the same.

its bout $800 total for gm kit with install and puts you around 290hp and 320 tq at the flywheel. for roughly around $300 you can get trifecta or hp and puts you well beyond that. i have gms1 and trifecta on top of it and much rather have just got trifecta and not wasted my money with gms1
To correct some info. The HP crank numbers are 280 for the Cobalt. 290 is for the HHR SS and Sky/Soltice. Torque for the Cobalt is 320 at the crank. Cost for me labor and parts was about $700 USD. Parts just involve some new MAP sensors and stickers and of course the ECU tune.
I've got the GM stage 1 upgrade. I think at the dealer they just call it the GM turbo upgrade kit or something like that. I know they do not use the term "Stage 1", but that's what we call it here. It cost $485 from crateenginedepot.com, but you have to have a dealership install the tune. I bought the kit and had it installed for something like $520, but I'm also a GM employee so I get discounted rates (good friends with the mechanic so he installed it after work for pretty cheap.) It raises the engine's output to 280hp at the crank and 320tq at the crank. Believe it or not the fuel economy actually stays about the same or increases 1mpg or so. If you're willing to sacrifice some power but want to keep your warranty, it's well worth it. If you're not afraid of losing warranty, get an HP tune from BYT.

it's a great tune... don't let anyone tell you otherwise...it costs me $485 from crate engine depot and about $80 for install. i gained significant HP and torque numbers and maintained my warranty without having to dick around with part swaps and reflashing... i've used my warranty three times... once for a new motor... so it's the way to go if you're not concerned with being the fastest cobalt out there... it definately makes the car quicker than stock... i gained about 38hp and 72lb/ft @ the wheels
hell ya it was worth it... remember the first day you drove it and had a huge smile on your face because of how fast it felt?... then you start to get used to it and it doesn't feel as fast?... GMS1 will make you feel like it's your first day all over again
