does anyone know when they will stop taking orders for the 09 ss/tc?
i want a custom one and i still can't buy one right now... i hope it's atleast past july... course i'll prolly have it b/f then but **** keeps comming up.

when i say custom i mean the color and the interior...

man **** that... i don't want to have to drive way off somewhere to get the color i want... ugh!!! and i want one that no one has driven.

course i guess i could just get a base one. usually the black ones are. those are the only ones i've seen... and do whatever to it. i could prolly get it down really cheap too and just get a paint job for it and pay the 2500 dollars for new interior and heated seats...

i really like that tint coat red. but if i got a paint job it'd prolly be sunglow orange metallic or something that stands out a lot!
maybe a black with green metallic.

yeah. i can't buy one now. prolly not till this summer... but by then i'll have so much more money saved it won't matter how much the paint job is n stuff.. i don't want to buy one untill i have more than enough to do whatever i want to it. performance mods (5k), system (5k), rims and new tires (3k maybe 4k). and prolly some body mods, and still have some left to go on a road trip to break it in lol...

i really want this car. i mean i liked it's potential more than some of the 40 and 50 thousand dollar cars ive looked at.. only thing i don't like is that it's not rear wheel drive. but realistically it don't matter.... i'm not gonna be doing any drifting in it...

but idk... if i can't get it imma be pissed... if i can't get the cobalt i'll prolly get the new GTO and do **** to it... GTO's r sexy...

i think id get into trouble with the GTO tho. n my mom would rather me get the cobalt. so would my dad... lol...

maybe even the Subaru STi's... them bitches are hot. 4wd rox too

 

If you can't get the Balt get a legacy gt they're both nice and quick and with a tune and exhaust they're sick

Platinum, if how much sense you are making could be expressed in a numerical quantity, it would be negative. They are taking orders on 09 SS/TCs until early April; after that they will be taking orders on 2010 SS/TCs. 09 SS/TCs will be actually produced until mid june at which point they will start making 2010 SS/TCs.

 

i thought that the 2009 was the last year they were doing the SS/TC? i thought the 2009 cobalt SS was the most powerful one they were making... lol what's the 2010? the same thing just newer?

if those pics i've seen are the 2010 cobalts them bitches are ugly. they prolly still filled with cheap ass interior too... idk. i guess we'll see... i want an 09 but idk if imma be able to get one...

Ok, the sense you are making just got even more negative. The Cobalt remains in production, unchanged, for the 2010 model year. The Chevy Cruze is a 2011 model and doesn't come out anytime soon. Furthermore, there is no such thing as a 09 GTO and GM does not make the LS1 anymore. Perhaps you are thinking of the G8 and the LS3.

 

Never paint a new car 'lest you give a **** less about resale value. That is all.

 

Just put an order in now with one with the RPD they are saying April before I get mine (you don't pay until the car shows up other than a deposit). But most likely 09's will end in June.

What doesn't make sense, is that if you have even 8K saved then why not secure the car if it's what you want and do all these other things later? Why all "now at one time" or if you are looking at $50k cars get a vette as a new car. But yeah there are no 09' GTO's

 

well i've been reading stuff about them maybe releasing a new GTO... idk if it's 09 or not but the idea is out there... So the cobalt SS/TC's are staying the same for 2010? like no change what so ever? engine? stock hp? n stuff? cuz i think id rather have the newer one if they are gonna be exactly the same performance wise, and similar in looks... and i have enough money to pay for the car in cash but not quite enough yet for the performance parts and all the modifications i want to do to it. and i'm getting all of it done pretty much at one time b/c i want it to be done and over with. the first week i own the car it's getting overhauled hardcore lmao... yeah i really like the vetts but i'm gonna get a bad ass car when i'm out of college. the cobalt is just gonna be my DD car for like two maybe three years then it's gonna be a toy. or get sold... prolly a toy tho. lol. my price range doesn't really go over 40 grand. and i hate having a car and it being stock just like everyone else's car. and as for the RPD i think imma order that DASHDAQ. looks awsome. totally customizable.

so if you give a car an 8000 dollar paint job the resale value drops b/c it's not stock paint?
not saying i'm gonna spend that much... but if i can't get the stock color i want then i'll be getting an expensive paint job...

wow you are dumb if you have enough saved cash right now to order and pay for the car that u want but wont. you could have it built any way that you want it right now.Makes no sense to put all that **** on an un broke in engine. So while you brake it in then you can save the rest of your 40 grand and do the upgrades. Must be tuff to save up 40 grand as a college student? What kind of drugs you selling???

 

lol... yes it was tough, taken me almost 2 and a half years to save that.
well if GM is gonna make the cobalt for another year unchanged i'll just wait till i can get the newest one... I think i'm thinking of that G8 GXP. i really like the G8 GT's but the GXP is the new one i think...

With GM in more trouble now... Here are some facts from inside GM as told to me by a relative that's been an engineer for them over 25 years...: The Camaro SS is on permanent hold... The RS camaro with the 365 hp 5.7 will be coming,........ The ZR1 maybe put out to pasture by spring 2010..... And Geeeez some of you really dont keep track of things in the auto industry, (the GTO's were made from 2004-2006...>> LS1 the first yr and LS2 for 05'-06')...... The G8 (aka Grand Prix) is just a four door GTO but the hot model is the GXP with the new vettes LS3, still a big heavy boat with poor MPGs, this G8 GXP will be gone soon... and are to be sold in very limited production ........ The production run for the G8 is said to be 5 years but sales or will determine how long the G8 stays in production...

I'll give the G8 1 more year at most....

I had moderately modded cars such as: 550 whp 06' GTO a 500 whp 06' vette and a 390 whp 2002 Lexus GS430... My 08' balt SS will be at 475 whp by this summer.

By 2015 CAFE rules take affect that will cut the power of many High performance vehicles down by 40% so enjoy these powerful cars now that's all I've got to say because they'll be a thing of the past soon....

 

You might not want to get that Pontiac after the talks today. GM is talking about phasing out Saturn (looking for another company to take over) and only having 2 models of Pontiac

The Camaro production (V6 and V8) was delayed a month but has not been put on permanent hold.
The RS is an appearance package for V6 trim level.
There is no 5.7L engine.
The G8 is made on the Zeta chassis which is not the same as the GTO/Monaro chassis.
