He could probably do that too, because Braulio will take care of it. Haha.

And from what I've read lately, GM, if they dig deep enough, can see how many times it's been flashed. As well as I've read that aftermarket parts only void your warranty if the dealer can PROVE that your aftermarket parts caused the damage or not in the first place.

Mine was the first at Reliable Chevy in Springfield, MO

I am up for my third visit to the dealership.

The lower MAP harness still won't clip into place. This will be the last time it visits their shop. Fixed or not fixed.

It varies on the stealership, i've went over to my local one to get my rear brakes serviced and my warranty on boost piping was gone since I dont have the cheapo plastic anymore,but when he tested out the car by driving it he didnt say a word about me dicking around with the flash.

for what I've heard some unscrupulous dealers are saying that they must do the install, but this is complete BS;

I got the straight scoop as far as warranty is concerned with self-install versus GMtech-install;

If you do the install your warranty maintains 100% intact... to a point.

If you have any problems down the line relating specifically to the intall, or problems fro mthe instal then you're up crap creek;
On the other hand if you pay for the install, everything is covered from parts to anything which could possibly arise from a less than perfect install...

I have not yet decided, but odds are that I will do my own install then drive it to the dealership.

this again is regarding interpretation of the warranty.

Even if you have an aftermarket reflash, you still retain a warranty BUT if at any time something arises which could even possibly be attributed to the aftermarket flash, you're up crap creek without a paddle...
Drivetrain parts failure on a car with an aftermarket tune will undoubtedly not have the parts warrantied unless it can be clearly shown that the defect was in no way related to the aftermarket tune - but even then the dealer would have to work with you to get the parts under warranty, as (iirc) the standard practice for cars is to have a digital photo of the flash ID sent to GM before warranty is approved.

No it doesn't appear too short. Under heavy boost it tends to just pop out.

I have unplugged and plugged it back in 20 times and it still doesn't lock. I am too chickenshit to take the chargepipe off and see if it will clip into place.

The fitment is so tight there. I first thought maybe my intercooler is the problem, but it didn't have this issue with stock MAP sensor and my crazy steve intercooler.

wait so the sensor stays screwed in right? but the harness that plugs into the sensor pops out? is the wire taught? maybe under engine movement is pops out and the tab is broke? did you try taking the top sensor out and plugging it into that harness to see if it clipped?

Yes the harness doesn't clip into place. The sensor itself is perfect and won't move.

Tab doesn't look broke at all. Will the lower harness reach all of the way to the upper harness?

The only reason I know it's not something I did was it happened the first day I got the Stage kit installed. If the lower harness will reach to the upper I could try that tonight, but I doubt it will.

Either the clip or the ramp onto which the clip locks is broken. Mine locks and will not slide off unless you pop the clip up.

no you will have to unscrew the sensor from the intake manifold and see if it clips into the bottom harness. Try that to see if the harness's clip broke.

That's a really good idea. I will try that tonight.

So i did as northvibe had suggested.

I tok out the MAP sensor in the manifold and tried to plug in the harness from the lower.

The lower harness will not clip over the barb on either sensor. I was able to press the clip down and force it onto the MAP sensor in y hand.

I noticed when I tried to reinstall the harness onto the lower MAP that it conflicts with the AC line? It rubs up against it. So it looks likea combination of the sensors not snapping in and rubbing on the AC line.

So my question is does the harness need to be replaced or the lower charge piping removed and the sensor and plug installed at the same tme? Is there much play in the position of the lower piping? I didn't have this issue with the stock sensor and harness. Is the new sensor and harness higher up or is this all due to install?
