GM Stage Kit - yet ANOTHER question

alright, so I know there have been a bazillion threads about the gm stage kit so far, and perhaps this question has been answered already in one of them, but I was just looking at the kit on crate engine deopt, and the upgrade for the Solstice / SKY LNF's produce ten more hp, and twenty more Ft,lbs of torque.

this is taken from the CED site.

Cobalt 2008-2009 HP & Torque ratings:

280HP @ 4,700 RPM

320 lb,-ft of torque @ 4,300 RPM

Kit disables "learn down feature"

This performance upgrade maintains no-lift shift feature on Cobalts and HHR's and adds it for the Solstice/Sky.

Note: The Cobalt Calibration is not due out for at least 30 days.

Solstice SKY HP & Torque ratings:

290HP @ 5,200 RPM
MT 340 lb,-ft of torque @ 3,600 RPM

AT 325 lb,-ft of torque @ 3,600 RPM

just wondering why GM would give the cobalt stage kit less bang for the buck as compared to the solstice and sky.

oh, and if anyone knows what the "MT" and the "AT" before the torque ratings in the solstice sky list above means pls let me know! its 3:30 in the morning on a back shift and my brain isn't quite working properly

no you f'ing didnt...you seriously did? why.....why did you.

This was in like 7 of the 8 threads ALREADY about the kit AND on a GMtunersource article.

out of rage I even found a hint of nice....
http://www.gmtunersource.com/index.p...bo-stage-1-kit

I would assume with all the bones in my body, MT = manual transmission and AT = automatic transmission.

I am being very sarcastic...but I stress...STRESS...please read the already made threads and gmtunersource before posting and even saying IN your post, so I know theres already theads about this..so why make one? all the info is already in them.

well as I mentioned there are tons of threads about the stage kit, and I've been trying to read as many as I could, but I don't happen to have unlimited time to read them all. and I'm not asking about lsj vs lnf stage kits here, I mean lnf lnf! and I have already read that gmtunersource article. I am just curious about the numbers being different between LNF motors in different vehicles with the stage kit. again, LNF stage kit!

oh, and thanks for the MT AT explanation! DUH! as I said its now 3:40 am on a 12 hr backshift

If GM could give the Cobalt the extra bang they would have. The HHR SS gets 290 HP also. The only differences between the HHR SS and the Cobalt SS is the air inlet system.

your question is answered in more detail here:

Yup thats what a lot of users are doing. I am surprised there arent a lot of users with the sensors and a custom tune already posting up...I cant wait to see what the difference custom tunes get out of them.
