First of the dealer is not GM unless it really was GM that said it. Second power slot with Hawk seam to be pretty good.

WTF.
Learn how to drive you dumb ****. I hear so many ******* sob stories about how the stock GM/AC Delco rotors are warped already, FOR NO ******* REASON, but that's BULLSHIT! They wear out because of how you ******* drive. If you constantly catch up to people on the freeway, and have to slam on the brakes, or you go bumper to bumper in the city, ride your brakes down the hill, or just come to a screeching halt at the bottom, OF COURSE THEY'RE GOING TO WARP! It's called heat, *******.

Stop bitching, learn how to drive properly, and fix your ******* brakes.

um relax if you think the rotors are good just take a look at the cobalt tc rears that people are having problems with from the get go so its not improper driving its just poor material. **** you dont see people complaining in corvettes about their brakes too much reason they are better engineered. lol the example is a long shot considering price differences.

Which brakes are 'warped'

Warped, and dug are two different things.

Rear brakes get eaten up because they have no dust covers+aggressive pads.

my rotors were scored pretty bad and had to be replaced. i went with the stock rotors and hawk hps pads on mine. The p/n for the pads were HB478F.605 and the rotors p/n were 15921402.

were you dropped on your head one too many times as a child??
there has only been 9345 GoZillion posts about brake problems with TC's, including an official recall, which affected a large number of TC's, where they replaced the front rotors due to poor materials which resulted in warping of the front rotors

as for the op, I would suggest taking it to another dealership and see if they will fix it for you. sounds like your dealership are a bunch of assclowns.... the service guys at least!

x2...my fronts were done...i just went to pep boys and they replaced thm for some oem types...didnt go for slotted or drilled...havent had a problem since and that was like 2 yrs ago... i had 2 change my rears not 2 long ago and a lil wavy i just go get thm smoothed out at any mechanics shop...and its also the way u drive...u have weight x speed against mainly the fronts but also can be many other factors.

Plus u really dont have to go with those big name brands..slotted and drilled help for overheating, heat prevents good stopping just a lil (trust me i knw)...any type will do...they all have the same purpose...just get them bled well and done the right way and u'll b set 2 go...

hope this helps in ur decision

Is there anyone with slotted (only not drilled!) rotors for the front yet? How about the rear?

Go to a different dealer. You would think with this recession going on that they would be hungry for business not turning people away.

STFU. You are a major ***** and unless the OP is autocrossing his car there is really no reason for him to have brake issues with his brand new car. I had issues with both the fronts and rears on my car (Less than 7k miles) and I drive pretty much all highway and I almost never use my brakes.

Above you will find a link to what looks to be a good replacement, but they havn't released anything for the rears yet. You may have to keep an eye out for when they do. They seem to be rather pricey!!!

seriously uncalled for. no need for this type of response. u act as if gm makes the best brakes out there. umm even their prized ZO6 has some shitty ass brakes. so bad they cant dont have a front Left rotor. they reuse the right one on the left side. sad isn't it. and the brakes are known to "warp" like crazy. under LIGHT braking, meaning normal driving. If was still a mod I would have banned your ass in a heart beat, with out hesitation.

n e ways, to the OP, try another dealer, they have to prove it was abusive driving that caused the rotors to warp prematurely. but typically the brakes aren't covered under warranty.

relax man. the dude is asking how to get his brakes fixed.

I know how to drive and brake properly. After 1500 miles my READ brakes on my TC have to nasty grooves in the rotors. Am I going to be the one to pay to have this fixed when I know they'll be shot in less than 12k, NO!

If it's truly a manufacturer's defect, then they will repair it. Otherwise, brakes are considered normal wear and tear and if you're out of the 12 month/12k warranty on them then you're screwed.

AFAIK there is noone that makes any aftermarket rotors for the SS/TC, front or rear. The only reason we have rear pads is because we share them with the solstice.
