GMS1 Question
As I've said previously, I just bought my 08 SS TC about a month ago, and was interested in the GMS1 tune, but yesterday after looking at my car I think I might already have it.
My car has a sticker on it that said this:
GM Performance Parts
2.0L 4-cyl turbocharger
Part # 19212670
is legal in 50 states for
emission controlled vehicles
California Air Resources Board
Executive Order No D-126-25
Part # 12626987
Does this mean that I have the GMS1 installed?
Also, how do I check to make sure that the tune was flashed to the ECU? The main reason I'm concerned about this is because on the carfax for the car this showed up:
Engine/powertrain computer/module replaced
So if the previous owner had the GMS1 installed and then the above was replaced they might not have reflashed it. If it's not installed should my car have any symptoms of that, because I've had off and on check engine lights?
So I guess ultimately my question is what's the best way to find out for sure if my car does in fact have the GMS1 parts installed and whether or not the tune was flashed onto the ECU?
Thanks!

What's in the box:
1 - 11589015 Bolt Tmap Sensor
2 - 88988320 Connector Sen-MAP w/ leads
1 - 12602863 Sticker Premium Fuel
1 - 12626987 Label Cert - the sticker you are talking about
2 - 12626998 O-Ring T-MAP
2 - 55206797 Sensor T-MAP (Bosch Part # 0 281 002 845, supposed to be used on Alfa Romeo 159 1.9 JTD)
1 - (npn) GM Performance Decal (missing from my kit)
1 - 19212711 Instruction Sheet
So it does seem like you have it. You can't really steal those stickers. They come in the kit.

yes, that is the GM part number for the GMS1 kit.
If you have bosch map sensors on the charge pipes, then it is probably installed.

I tried it out today. I gunned it and hit like 22-23 psi.
Could this happen with just the sensors installed or does this prove that I do in face have the tune flashed onto the ECU?

Yeah that's what I figured. I have had CEL's off and on twice in the past couple of weeks but I'm assuming if it wasn't flashed it would be on all the time.

GMS1 will hit that no problem with the right temperature and air load.
I have hit 25 in hot dry conditions. I hit 20 in the cold winter easily.
Also depends on gear and several other factors.
Only way to know is send Vince at Trifecta your VIN and ask if he ever put a tune on it, then if he says no take it to the dealer to check for aftermarket tune.
I am betting you do in fact have the stage kit tune.

I called the dealership that replaced the ECU yesterday, and they weren't sure if they would have flashed the GMS1 tune, but they said that once it's installed it should register or something when they reprogrammed the ECU so their system should have flashed it to the ECU.
Does someone like Autozone have the capability to check for the tune? I called my local GM dealer yesterday to see if they could check for it but they said they don't know anything about the GMS1 and don't know how to do it. How lame is that?

I didn't buy it from a GM dealership but I might be able to go to mine and tell them just to use that tool and then it would make sense to them.
It may not be necessary though because it sounds to me like the car won't boost over 14-15 psi without the flash, and mine is boosting over 20. Is this correct?

Sort of, the car will boost to whatever it needs to to make 260 on the stock tune. However, very rarely will it ever break 16 psi, unless you live at a very high altitude like Colorado. The car will not break 20 psi on the stock tune at any time. Considering where you are, on the stock tune, the car should never see more than 15 psi of you were on the stock tune.
