To gut the cat or not

So I got a used CIA catted dp. Want to gut the cat but don't know if the bulb where the cat is will cause any problems with turbulance or what not. The dp is 3" and the larger part where cat is, is about 3.5". Opinions please.

meh.. I don't see how it will matter.. I think should be good... you're worried about turbulance from goin from 3"-3.5"-3"? do you have a 3" exhaust after the dp?

I don't think it'll be a problem at all... if you're worried, sell your catted CIA dp, an grab a catless one brand new for cheaps

F it. Guess I'll just sell it and buy catless. Much rather have a clean looking rather than one that's been chopped up. Thanks for the opinions guys.
