Hahn Tuner vs. Trifecta
Hahn Tuner vs. Trifecta
I just bought an 09 Cobalt SS and it's bad ass. Well Ive had it for 2 months now. I have about 2600 miles on it... I just ordered those LED HID Angel Eye headlights. That's all that I have so far.
I want to get a tuner. But im really not sure what they even do. I like the idea of the Hahn one how you can just plug it in and press a button.
Which ones do you guys have and what kind of improvements have you noticed in horsepower??

hahn=canned tune
trifecta=custom tune for your car with tweaks to make it perfect and (from chatting with him while cruising in his lnf at *28+psi on stock everything but airfilter and tune*...he can do things that no one else can on the lnf right now and make more power

i say go trifecta, hptune, or superchips, the BR tuner from hahn is the most expensive and gives the tamest results hptuner custom or trifecta will have the best gains . the superchips one is likethe hahn one but cheaper and gives the same gains as the hahn
like nwae said though trifecta is on the cutting edge and is constantly developing things
theyre also very easy to deal with and easy to talk to

with trifecta you have the option of using a laptop or they can send you a hand held programmer. vinces service is awesome and for the price you cant beat it. also for extra you can buy the his cable which will make tune updates easy to install and also you will be able to store the stock tune. if not the trifecta tune go with hp tuners.
See I don't even know anything about cars really. I don't even understand what a tuner actually does. And what is a HP tuner? horsepower? lol And then the Hahn looked easy to use, but expensive.
That trifecta one your talking about, I don't understand how you can change everything? Like you get an update everytime you put a MOD on your car?

With trifecta or hp tuners you can update your tune with every mod you do. From what I understand hp tuners is a kind of software used to tune your car. Hahn and superchips are handheld programmers you just plug in under the steering wheel and then like a minute later you're tuned. I don't have to many people around me that can dyno tune so I ordered the superchips tuner, its like $300.
I would go with hp tuners. I have already beat other full bolt on trifecta tuned cobalts and im stock no mods what so ever. Its real easy to learn how to tune your car. Just got to read a lot on the forums. Hp tuners man it will be well worth it. The looks on there face when they know they got over two grand in there cars. And im stock only hp tuned is just priceless.

I already had hp tuners so it was just $100 for credits and my friend sent me his tune in which is car dyno at 326 hp and 353 TQ, then I just made a couple adjustments and im beating him now. But to answer your question I have no dyno time yet.
Who supports HP Tuners on this board? Where can it be found? Link?
Anyway, can someone with the Hahn tuner chime in with dyno results?
Every time a thread is started about tuning, someone comes in and drops their 2 cents about Trifecta. We agree that Trifecta is great, but there are other options out there. I think Trifecta is *****-to-the-wall tune that gives great numbers on a dyno and strip.
My car is a daily driver, I'd like to have a bit of civility in my daily driver....

The Super Chips Cortex will give you up to 300 HP and a little over 300 WTQ. It holds your original tune and has a bunch of DAta Logging features. They have pretty good customer service and offer a powertrain warranty w/ the Cortex. I think its a pretty good product for a "canned" tune, it definitly woke my car up and makes it a blast to drive. The Hahn is way too pricey for me considering what it does. It all boils down to what kinda power you want to make. If your wanting max power go with a custom tune HP or Trifecta. just my two cents

How do you substantiate the 300/300 you say? At the engine? That a sure bet. I think drewbroo got like 280/305 from his tuner in hot weather.
I think the Superchips is the way to go too, unless Hahn can prove me wrong. I have a few e-mails out to Bill Hahn Jr. and some PM's to folks....
What kinda boost are you seeing with Superchips as well?

I believe SC's has dyno sheets for the LNF 91 Perf. tune showing a 40 hp gain and a 50 something TQ boost. I've not dynoed yet but Im sure with the much cooler weather here I'm seeing close to what they claim. It's 65 right now! And the tires break loose in second when I hammer it. You can feel a huge diffence when its cool compared to the other week when it was in the 90's. My boost tops at 22psi. I really need to dyno this thing!
hands down do the trifecta or just go to a good shop and get HPT done on your car on a dyno. Unless you want to drive to one of the Brians places and get HP tuned by them, they know their **** too.
