hahns ppc tuner

i read that ur rpms can go from 63k to 7k? 7k is in the redline and i never had a tuned car before, but isnt it bad if your car goes in the redline area?

X2 ^^^ As long as your car is tuned for it, (& you know for a fact it is) [if you don't know, you will find out], than you should be fine.

There are laws to protect consumers from such things. Refer to the Magnuson Moss warranty act and that it states the change must be the cause for the issue to void warranty repair. If I were you I'd think about finding a new dealer to handle my maintenance, repair, and warranty work.

here is my question, if you buy a car at one lot, can you get warranty work done at another? of course, its local so i'm sure they'd be pissed that I didn't buy the car from them, lol...

But my local dealership(where I ordered the car) are douches when it comes to service... I can deal with them great in buying a car, but other than that, its always a headache... and the head service guy who used to be there(who I can deal with) just recently went to the "rival" dealer...

I assume the warranty is through GM and NOT the dealership though

Yeah you can do that. Warranty is via GM.

I had an Acura that was purchased in Arlington, TX. Then I had warranty work done in Des Moines, IA.

Ya I bought my car at one dealer, had service done there, they tore up my car, fixed most of their mistakes but took forever to get my ride fixed. I have since taken my car to a different dealer for almost 3 years now for warranty, service and GM stage kit installs. They are a great group and treat me as the valuable customer that I am.

Find another dealer.

if u win.. u just pay the lawyer? its a lose lose situation....

just put stock downpipe on if something goes wrong so they cant say ****

i all reayd talked to my dealership we have on paper signed by the dealer and the manager that i can put ANY part I want on... if somethin goes wrong with the part i bought... i pay for it... if something goes wrong wit the car that i didnt put on they warranty it!

what about the stage kits? will they void the warranty, or are they good to go? I would think that if they installed them for you(which I will have them to do), your warranty would stay intact... if not, I'll just do it myself and hope they don't notice

They are no stage kits right now, would be surprised if you see one.

You can have warranty work done at any GM dealership.

If you take a car in for service on a broken/malfunctioning component, the dealership will check to see if the tune CVN currently in the car matches the factory CVNS. If it doesn't they will record the CVN, the VIN number of the vehicle, and document whats broken and forward it on to the quality/service people who will review it to decide whether or not to not cover it under the warranty.

Going to court is the last resort. Just find another dealer to service your car if they won't honor GM warranty.

The paper you signed and your dealer is how the law works...you didn't get a better deal than anybody, just a dealer that understands the law....basically if you install any part and it causes the issue it is your problem....if the problem is with anything GM not caused by a non-GM part then it is GM's problem. That is standard, but not always honored. Just depends on the dealer.

On the SS/SC car Stage I and Stage II is covered under warranty for a 1 year 12K miles sort of thing. I've also had dealers say since it is GM no problem. Some dealers told me they wouldn't cover it even with GM documentation (Ignorant Service Managers) In any case the Stage III is NOT covered is my understanding (Could be wrong) Anyways if/when stage kits come for the Turbo version then my guess that one of the updates will be covered. I'm hearing it will be a fuel line upgrade (injectors probably) and then a new PCM flash.

I knew the parts wouldn't be added to the warranty(had their own warranty), I was just wondering if the whole warranty would be voided... and I know of the Magnusson-Moss Act. but I don't want to add the stage kits, have the transmission explode and be **** out of luck either...

I also knew on the s/c ss Cobalts that stage I and II were covered but GM and other companies have been cracking down on things like this(like being able to tell if you have reflashed the PCM) and I didn't know exactly where the stages stood...

as far as the guy saying he "doubts" we'll see them... We most definitely will, obviously they were available for the s/c cobalts and with the srt-4 neons they were very popular, as they are with VW GTis, etc... And haven't they already been kind of leaked for the Solstice/Sky? why would they release it for a car with limited aftermmarket support and not for the car geared at those who would actually be interested???

wouldn't be a smart move on GMPP's part

Nah GM would cover a tranny issue if caused by their own stuff...just need to find the right dealer....now if the tranny blows because you abuse it, you may not get warranty repair...then again I've seen stuff happen where things do get warranty support just because the vehicle is so young ect.....Good luck to you in modding your ride.
