I am starting to get more into cars and want to learn more, and the 2009 Chevy Cobalt SS Turbocharged setup is really confusing, can you guys tell me which side is the compressor wheel and turbine wheel, and im still confused about the pipe on the passenger side that conects the air filter and turbo, the pipe goes from the turbo then to the air filter then goes somewhere else where i cant see, it just disappears where does it hook up the other end to? the intake manifold which is right in front of the intercooler? Right?

 

Lol. U really are noob to car stuff arnt Ya. Ok. The pipe with air filter is the air intake. The part that dissapears goes just under ur passenger headlight where it can suck in cold air. If u take the light out u will see it. It's just a short tube to get air from outside the hot engine bay. The air intake pipe from the filter connects to the compressor side of the turbo. Look behind the engine u will see it, the compressor side is connected to a small center section that has coolant and oil lines on it. On the drivers side of the center section is a cast turbine housing covered in a heatsheild. The turbine side is where the exhaust gas goes though to spin the turbine which via a shaft spins the compressor. YouTube how a turbo works and Ull understand.

 

The intake manifold is the aluminum thing attached to the front of the engine. It has a plastic hose hooked up to a solinoid, then another solinoid with 3 rubber hoses connected to it.
