hks bov question

i had a 2010 ss t/c. looking at hooking up hks bov w/ the dejon cp kit. hks sells a recirculation kit for the bov. do u know if i were to hook that up w/ the bov, would u still need a tune and a maf relocation. if not, do u think it would still throw a cel or run rich or anything else unusual?? thats for the input.

if your not going to get a maf relocation dont even get a bov. if you put an intake you will here your bpv just fine. yes you need a tune with the maf relocation because you need to recalibrate the sensor....no maf relocation or no recirculation means you will throw rich spikes. you can try to tune it out but there is only making it slightly better theres no fixing it completely with the maf sensor in the wrong area.

I have the hks with the dejon cp and I did not have to get a retune. because our engine is DI everytime you let off the gas fuel is cut off to. BYT has a great write up about this.
I have hurd people talk about this rich spike but I dont think it was ever a well know tuner

I do not have a block off plate or anything it runs great! everytime I let off the gas I hear a quick pphhsss.

it will but you are spending money you dont need to.....you dont need a tune for cp but to get the recirculation kit you need a tune and an intake, and a lower cp.

If your running the bpv and bov together you wasted a bunch of money. Its just stupid because the bpv will fail before the bov. Get the maf rellocation if you want to run the bov atmopsherically. Recirculate if you don't then you don't need the maf relocation. You need a tune and block off plate no matter what. Like I said if you keep your bpv buy an intake you will hear the bpv just fine....if you run a bov ad bpv together or think about it hand me 300 bucks because I can think of better ways to spend it then making noise

yea there is better ways to spend the money but this mod is only for noise. a BOV is going to give you 0 hp gains duh but I had an HKS sitting around from my old car so I put it on and I like the sound btw it cost me 100 buck for the dejon pipes used on hear and well I did not need a tune so.....100 bucks way better then buying an intake and a lower cp

I run the HKS bov and the bpv. I ran this before I was tuned and never had rich spikes. Never had CELs. Nothing. The only thing that changed was now I have a "pssh" sound.

Maybe I am a idiot and the cobalt is different than any other car that runs a recirculated system but how would it be any different if he ran a HKS BPV ( this is what a bov with a recirculated kit becomes ) than using a stock BPV. They both put the already metered air back into the tract.

Maybe I am missing something but I believe everyone just saw BOV and missed the recirculated kit part which would just make this a BPV since it is not vent to air.

*Shrug maybe I am just dumb though sorry if I am*

idk what you want man u asked if u needed it and I am telling you no. Me and a hand full of other people do not have it. if u hook it up right then you are fine. I mean one of the best LNF tuners says you dont need a tune after so y do it! I understand a lot of people say u need this and that but my guess is they never tryed it. search there is a how to on how to hook up the BOV Paintballer from above had a thread on it

I have an HKS that's vented to atmosphere and it works fine for me. It's a good idea to get a tune if you recirc it or not. Nick (BYT) checked all my logs and everything was completely fine. Never had a CEL. Nothing. Some people are lucky and some people aren't.

Unless they have changed their stuff around I'd suggest another charge piping company. I had gotten the same setup when it first came out. Pipes are just tiny Compared to other(zap, hahn). Hks ssqv got annoying real fast thoe.

That's what it seems like. I have Dejon pipes with the flat black HKS and it has worked perfectly fine for me since I put it on. That was around 3,000 miles. I'm at 15,000 now and it's still working just as it has been.
