hoping for a little help
hoping for a little help
hopefully this isnt in the wrong place, but ive seen a good bit of problems and stuff in this section. anyway, ive been having a lot of issues recently with my 09 going into limp mode recently and tripping a p0101. ive finally got a can of maf sensor cleaner and am going to try that next but i just wanted to get a couple opinions on this before i do anything past that. i have an aem intake, synapse intercooler, and a modern perfomance exhaust. im still running the stock bpv and have gm's stage 1 tune with soldered map sensor wires. all this has been done for almost 2 years now. i finally gave in and talked to chevy and they said my maf sensor is screwed and they think my intake is drawing in more air then the sensor can handle. then they offered to replace it for about $300 something... ive come across a lot of things on here saying about how the aem intakes can let in a little water or that it could even be something like the map senors i got with the gm tune. been waiting for the rest of my warranty to run out before i go and get a legitimate tune and if at all possible, i dont wanna replace my intake right now. if anyone could help narrow things down a bit for me as to my best options while im waiting on a new sensor to arrive, id really appreciate it. thanks in advance
I thought I remembered reading that the AEM skews the trims something awful. If you have the stock air box, try putting that back on, clean MAF and then pull negative battery cable for 10 minutes. See if that helps.
check for boost leaks....that's the main cause for p101 iirc. the maf could be bad but it takes all of 30 seconds to replace and a new one is like 70 bucks so definitely don't pay 300 to have it replaced. the intake could be skewing trims enough to put it in limp mode but imo if it hasn't done so till now then that's prolly not the problem. maf coulda gotten wet too....as mentioned clean it and disconnect the negative on the battery for 10 min to erase the code and see what happens.
It was really bad a week ago and I reset the ecu then and it ran stronger then it had in months. And yeah, I figured I could have it done in no time for way less time and $ since it cost me about a hundred to get my rear rotors replaced under warranty and about a 4 hour wait. I am going to try cleaning the maf soon since I have a can of the stuff, but if it got wet before, wouldn't it be completely shot?
And thanks for the quick replies. Wish I would've checked my phone sooner

So the autozone near me had one maf sensor in stock. Got it and aem's version of a hydrosheild on the way. With any luck, it'll be here soon and everything will be running like it should by the end of the weekend
