Suspension + tire setup are key on the strip. 110 Traps are good for twelves.

Not necessarily about the speed. I was trapping 110-111 when I ran 13.7-13.8. When I began running my 13.2-13.3 runs I was only trapping 106-107.

Would love to see a slip for that.

cool, so u just went with the downpipe instead of the whole exhaust system huh? Did u get both the cold and hot side for the charge pipes? I only got the hot side. LOL I read that the cold side is good already from factory. What kind of intake u running? I got the CAI from Dejon with the recirculation option but I'm currently not recirculating the air from my BOV. Instead the just used a rubber stopper and plugged the hole on my intake. LOL Before I did that though, I used to just run it with the stock box but with a K&N drop in air filter. In my opinion, I think it ran better that way. However, with my CAI it sounds so much more beast. LOL But I honestly think it runs better with the stock box k&n set-up.

If u don't recirc or tune for it u are loosing metered air and running rich and bogging more than likely in between shifts. I'm also debating on a tune hp or switchable trifecta. Got a great tuner here in Ontario. Met once years ago but never tuned from him. He is a trifecta and hp tuner guy, so just debating in my head

Go with hptuning. I had trifecta and went to ho and don't regret it all. Response time from tuner is better, a lot easier, and the tunes feel so much smoother.

He obviously took me from the start and pulled all the way. It wasn't until 4th gear that I started creeping up. We were well into triple digit numbers and decided to slow down. LOL I felt ashamed. LOL
Lol, a stock LNF will do exactly this. If u lost to a 190HP car you need a MAJOR driver mod.

What I was stating previously is, with 110-111 traps you will be in the 12's with good traction. The balts have pretty tight gearing, so Trap speed and traction are the big variables.

so if I get tuned for my intake then I won't have to recirculate the air correct? Also, wait, he does both HP and Trifecta tunes? If so, then he should be able to tell u which one he likes best.

well, I know that once u tune the ecm it will make a big difference but I've heard that after a tune u pretty much cant run from a dig anymore due to all the excessive torque. Well, that is with the stock tires of course. Also, maybe it might be that I need a driver MOD because this is my first stick shift car,or maybe because his car is 700 hundred pounds lighter than mine, he's turbocharged too, has street slicks, upgraded clutch, basic bolt-ons, and tuned. Or most likely both. LOL ****, I'm just waiting on that tune. Still saving up for it. LOL I'll run him again once I get tuned. Probably not from the dig though. LOL

Just curious, does anyone uses the no-lift shift feature going from 1st to 2nd gear? The previous owner of my car must have done it incorrectly too many times or something because when I shift to second gear, it's hard to go in. It doesn't go in smoothly like all the other gears. I usually only use NLS when shifting from 2nd to 3rd because I don't wanna risk it going 1st to 2nd due to that issue. I'm scared I might mess up the transmission. LOL also, a lot of people say that using NLS from 1st to 2nd is not worth it. Any comments on this? Also, for all those of u that are tuned, can or do u guys still use NLS? Is it still safe?

I thought about it but I like the stealth feature. LOL Don't want my car to always be on kill mode. Only when I go racing. Unless HP offers that option. However, I did see a video of 2 ss/tc racing with just the tunes. One from HP and the other Trifecta. The HP won. Not sure if driver mod is needed or if HP is simply better but I'm sticking with Trifecta unless HP offers stealth mode.

You can get hp tuned and just not beat on it like it would it would if you're running trifecta. It's really simple though. I'm just trying to steer you away from regretting something in the long run like I did. I spent $350 on trifecta tune and cable. I upgraded something's and went bigger turbo and to get retuned I would've had to end up paying another $250. If I would've went with hp, it would've just been the credits ($100) and ($150-200) for whoever tunes you for free whatever you do regardless of what you do just as long as you can get your hands on an hptuner suite. If not, you can always buy the suite and basically rent the tuner for $100 or so to others.

I have stealth - 80 percent of my time in that car I just cruise around with GMS1 like I did before the Trifecta, then hit the trac control button when I want the boost. Really, though - if you think about it, "kill" mode is modulated by your gas pedal, not the tune. I have it this way because I don't want my wife, who seldom drives my 'balt, to have issues with spinning the tires through two gears when she borrows the car! Unless you're really hell bent on building something beastly, I think its a wash whether you get HP or Trifecta tuned - both are good, and both work great for a mildly bolted TC. I'm happy with mine, but its only occasionally I need to push the happy button.

I also think there's no real good reason not to recirc your air, especially on a car you dd. The only thing it does is goofs with the A/F mixes when your valve opens.

I understand what you are saying and thanks for trying to help me save money, I really appreciate it, but unfortunately, I'm not planning to upgrade turbo or anything big like that. I just want some basic bolt-ons and a tune and that's it. LOL Thanks anyways. Like I said, this is my daily driver so I don't want to go all out on it. I would love to be super fast but if anything breaks then I'm gonna be carless and I wouldn't want that. Unfortunately, I'm not that into racing. I love the need for speed but I'm an EMT so that job requires a lot of my time (48 hours a week) and plus I'm going to be heading back to school this next semester so I won't have much time to be racing much more anyways. LOL Anyways, how does your car feel like now with the upgraded turbo? Any difference for 1/4 mile times? I'm sure it has to improve. LOL
