How to hit certain 1/4 times
Alright! That sounds good to me. However, if I wanted to add on more bolt-ons, what else should I do? Excluding the FMIC. LOL Also, I think I'll stick with Trifecta because of their stealth feature. I just bought a carbon fiber high rise spoiler for 450 shipped too so now I'll have to put the tune on hold for a bit. LOL Can't have a fast car with the low wing.
High wing just looks so much more faster and sportier.
1. I'm not sure about the torque but when I floored it in second(in my opinion, has the most torque) I saw the hp go up to 290ish almost 300. LOL I'll do it again and look at the torque numbers instead tomorrow. But ok, cool. Thank's for clarifying that i'm not crazy. LOL Because I definitely felt a difference after I got my exhaust in with the downpipe. I thought maybe I was crazy because everyone said that you wouldn't get any benefits until u tune. I disagree because when I was running stock(only k&n drop in filter) I raced a turbo civic from the roll(40mph in 2nd gear) and I lost by almost 3 cars. However, after I got my exhaust system in, we tried it again and I got him by half a car because he gave me a car head start, which means I would've lost only by half a car now after my exhaust. Also, it does feel faster now after getting my exhaust in.
2. Thanks for clarifying. I think I'm going to go with 22psi tune then. How many psi tuned are u?
3. Was that with street tires and stock clutch? I'm not sure about 13.3 but I've seen 13.5 all stock with tune only. Also, I've never been to the track so what do u mean when u said keep your 60's down? Is it your 0-60mph speed time? That would be all about getting a perfect launch then right? Which is already tough being stock, but tuned.... well, that's where I'm going to have difficulties. LOL any tips there?
4. Do you know if it is actually still safe to NLS after getting tuned though? Does the tune mess with the ECM enough to disable that feature? Also, the only time I NLS is from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th. So that brings up my next question (I'm full of them. Thanks for all the help and patience LOL) Is it true that if u NLS from 1st to 2nd then you won't get much out of it because you're only burning the same exhaust again? Someone told me that so I wasn't sure. Also, my tranny is messed up so I can't really shift from 1st to 2nd very well or fast so NLS from 1st to 2nd is out of the picture. Maybe I'll try it when I get a new tranny. LOL
Thank you so much in advance. I know I'm asking a ton of questions but please try your best to answer as many as you can. Thank you so much!

My only comment is - it can be confusing if you Trifecta on your trac control button - at least with mine the tune comes on under "competition mode", which makes it a whole load of fun shitzengiggles with the new KY clutch!
Shouldn't matter if you learn to run without the NLS - which has definitely lead to better times for me. 60's are 60 foot times. fwd's can be rough to get to launch both consistently and quickly (which is why racing strong rwd's and awd's like a WRX can be a frustrating experience) - those first 60 feet or so reflect the ability of the car to put the power to the ground effectively.

The best place to get Trifecta tune is actually NOT the trifecta direct website.
It would be through Jerry at BNR:Trifecta Tune 2008-2010 Chevrolet Cobalt SS
The reason being, through BNR, the initial tune is cheaper and the retunes are free for minor stuff, $100 for major stuff (i.e. turbo upgrade). I've got some stuff through Jerry and they're a very good business. They're also supporting vendor of this site iirc.

Select-a-tune: You have the option to have a low-boost tune for daily driving, sort of a stock tune if you will. Once you enter competitive mode, the performance tune will be activated. This can also be set to your cruise control selector if you wish.
Adjustable Launch Control: Set your launch control RPM to any RPM you want. The stock 5100RPM is WAY too high.
There is no need to send in your car's computer, but you will need a cable to flash the tune to the car. This cable can be purchased on this site or you can contact us before purchasing and we can rent you a cable with a security deposit.

Hey guys, so I did some more runs and as I floored it in second the hp jumped up to almost 300 and the torque went up to around 290. Or at least that's what the digital thing displayed. If it is accurate, I think I should be able to achieve my goal with a tune. LOL YAY! However, I thought that the ecm would cut off all the excessive hp and torque immediatly after it passes 260 without a tune? Unless the digital thing is not accurate? Oh well, either way, I"m still going to get a tune. LOL Thanks for everything and all the help guys!
then I do a pull with the tune on and they change to
. Seriously though, car is a beast with a tune, easily walk away from the new v8 chargers, ls1 camaro's (it was a friends he has just an intake and exhaust), hemi trucks (just for the lolz), and easily keep up with the new 5.0 mustangs (can't say I would "walk" them cause I only went against 1 and it was close only won by 1-2 cars maybe). So yeah I seriously laugh at 350z's when they want to go even though they are really nice cars.
Im just going to throw this out there, but I'm pretty sure that the digital read out is either 1) not accurate or 2(more likely) hp/tq numbers at the flywheel not the wheels. I don't have an RPD in my car so I can't be sure
, but I'm pretty sure you aren't making that power at the wheels. Oh and to go along with what everyone else is telling you about getting a tune, I have trifecta select a tune and when I take my friends for rides (they always ask me to haha) I start with stock and they are like

Bnr without a doubt is going to be the easiest to work with and cheapest. Plus on some of their sales and gbs you can get a cable for free. Just gotta keep an eye open for them.

Wow, how cool. Now I really can't wait for a tune. Damn it, I might just use my credit card and get it now then pay it back on my next check. LOL Look what u did man. Got me all excited. How many PSI are u tuned on though? And about the cocky Z, I believe he has the roadster model and it's the latest one before they upgraded it to the 370z. He only has basic bolt-ons, intake and nizmo exhaust I believe, well that's what he told me at least. LOL But yea, I think the RPD or whatever is just showing what's at the flywheel. Oh yea, besides tune, what other MODs do u have bro?
2) I usually spike 22-24 psi and hold 20-22 psi depending on weather conditions and that is just with the base tune since I haven't sent in any datalogs yet.
3) I have: k&n sri (running stock intake right now because my car doesn't get along well with any intakes I put on it even when they are tune for), treadstone tr-10 intercooler, hahn upper and lower charge piping, tune, hahn catless down pipe, and full hahn exhaust ( absolute best sounding exhaust I've ever heard on a lnf).
4) Even though he has more power at the flywheel right now 300hp vs 260hp, he weighs 700-800 lbs more then your car and once you get tuned you will more then likely have more hp at the wheels then he has at the flywheel and still weigh much less then him. So yeah 350z's are supper nice and I would love to own one for the looks and the amazing exhaust sound, but faster then an ss, I don't think so haha.

2.) so you're tuned at 22-24? N why haven't u do the datalog yet? isn't it simple?
3.) cool, we have nearly the same set-up then. Except I think spending the extra money on the lower charge pipe and IC is not worth it. The stock is perfectly capable of handing up to 350 hp, which I'm pretty sure I will be well under so I'm in the safe zone.
4.) I honestly think it's all about who has more money. It don't matter what kind of car u have. I've seen civics hit low 10's. So yes the Z is much nicer and it's a v6 3.5L but the reason y I got my cobalt is because its a lot cheaper, is almost as fast(stock), and saves more gas! LOL That's my winner. Plus, all I need to do is throw a grand or 2 in it and it will smoke the Z. LOL
1.) ok.

Does anyone know if getting a turbo upgrade and a performance cam shaft will compromise the reliability of our vehicles? I'm sure it will be fine for the first couple of thousand miles but what about after 5-15k? Will it be able to hit 150,000k with those mods? Any comment is appreciated. Of course, I know it won't make it if you're constantly at the tracks but what if you got those mods and only raced like a few times a month?
I haven't done a datalog simply because I am happy with the base tune and have a hard time finding someone to ride along with me to hold the laptop while I am available. Yes it is very easy to datalog, but since I have an interceptor gauge and can monitor everything I am fine with the base tune.

Never dyno'd the car, that's the one question that I hate when people ask me because they are all like "well just take a guess" and then when I say that alot of other people are between 300-330whp they say BS and I'm just like hey YOU wanted a number and there it is haha

LOL I'm sure that you're not BSing. Of course if you have basic bolt-ons with Trifecta tune it's gonna get u up to 300whp but I just want to know how much exactly because we have a similar set-up. So when I get my tune, I'll know what numbers to expect. That way I'll know if the tune went right or not. LOL

Even though you have an interceptor to monitor things they aren't always correct either. I have 2 of them and don't always rely on them. You can't just go off by things you wanna see.
