I was told that when I get mine tuned to be easy on third gear, like no mashing it at low RPM's or it'll blow up haha

From what I understand- there isn't much point in going past 23-24 PSI on the stock turbo, it just doesn't make efficient power past that essentially.

I'm not sure if I'm educated enough to answer- but until one of the tuners pops in to clarify I'd say the timing and the air fuel ratio are a couple key aspects. I'm sure there are other parameters as well.

stay at a safe 22-23 psi on stock turbo. aggressive tune would be exactly that. doesnt always mean high psi. more timing, leaner a/f ratio. ect ect. that's about the extent of my knowledge lol

Personally, I ran 25psi for basically the entire life of my stock turbo and she was still in great shape when I swapped her out for my current setup. With that said, I don't normally tune stock turbo cars over 24psi but that also doesn't mean it's "not safe" to push it to 25psi. Yes the turbo can't keep up much past 5k but there are ways to compensate for boost loss with other methods to maintain a nice flat power curve up top. What's NOT safe, it to allow for a large boost spike down low/mid range and settle down to 25psi there after. Boost ramp and a few other safety measures in the tune are key to longevity here. If you stomp the gas from 4k in 3rd gear and you see 28psi on the gauge for a 24-25psi tune, your tuner's not doing it right.
