Why doesn't the graph just stop at 500. It goes on to 1400 lol

I in total disbelief with those numbers. If it were true then I need new pistons already, a new fuel pump and injectors and I needed 1 step colder plugs???/ BS.

Cylinder liners and rods before valves?!!?!?

Why is there a HP rating for VALVES? shouldnt it be a RPM limit?

Manufacturers tend to be pretty conservative on power ratings don't forget, especially oems. GM never rated an LQ series engine to handle big power yet it's been proven to handle 800+hp without as much as flinching.

^ This, ZZP has proven that the stock rods can handle at least 500hp, if not more. But this really depends on the driver.

Wow. Those numbers are stupid.

You'd probably destroy the engine block before you took out the crankshaft.

First off, these are I assume safe numbers... Reliable .. you can throw ungodly power at stock parts. But when will they go bye bye

just by looking around on here, most people start having engine problems and tranny problems at 400whp. the car is supposed to be reliable up to that point as far as engine goes, everything else needs to be replaced other than the axles though at that power..

That's because after you do all the work on the graph you are good until 1400hp! Duh!

^^There's also more to the graph that the op didn't post up, which shows the block rating and such. This same graph actually rates the lnf block stable up to 1000hp if memory serves me correct.

sorry I haven't really had a chance to get to my computer before now to access the file so here ya go.

The first pic is the complete chart that the op posted. This is GM's recommended parts upgrade via hp ratings.

The second is GM's recommended parts upgrade via RPM ratings.[IMG][/IMG]
