hp tune/trifecta

Right now im running trifecta on my car and need to install a hp file. Vince told me this

What you can do is load our TF/HP layer on the car. Then you can use HP to tune the “custom” tune mode of our tune. But you have to tune it yourself – you get a stock tune from us in the layer. This option is only for people that know how to tune using HP and want to use our select-a-tune and infiniboost features with HP tuning software.

What does this all mean haha. I know i need to order the layer tune from vince then after that what would i do. I have a hp tune ready to load onto my computer i bought from MDub

After you load the special TF base file, you do a write calibration of the M-Dub file over it, not a write entire.

Better discussed over here eh?

Only if the tune is suitable for your mods ect. Someone with HPT still needs to log & tweak it in most likely. One tune doesn't fit all. Vince won't log & tweak a combo tune. For instance, if you bought an email tune from me I would include reviewing the log files & dialing it in as would Term & BYT.

You can not do a read entire of a combo tune either. More TF protection there.

This. You need to have the tune dialed in for the car. Timing, MAF, etc need to be checked and adjusted as necessary. I normally do anywhere from 4-10 data logs depending on the mods of the car.

I will be the one loading the tune on to the car and logging it and Ill make sure to adjust anything necessary. Im sure the MAF will be off a bit, and since its getting cold here I may have to pull a degree or 2 of timing, but im guessing it will mainly just need some work on the LTFT's

So someone else is sending a him tune but you are tweaking it for him? That is strange.

Yeah he asked me if I would tune his LNF and I said I havent done one before and they are different than the LSJ and other cars Ive done so he got a tune from someone I guess, so Ill just dial in the MAF and timing for him

If you tune LSJ's the LNF will be cake. Just remember to keep the PE lambda around .88 on the DI engine. Too many people want to richen it up.
