HP tuners vs trifecta
anyone know a tuner in NJ that uses HP tuners software?
and if you do, how much for the tune? I heard that if you get a full tune with a dyno and street tune using HP tuners you can expect to pay around 500 bucks??!! is that so....
anyway u can get the hideable trifecta tune for about 300 bucks i believe and vince can 'tune' your car after u do a few wot runs, he supposedely does it from his pc after you shoot him the datalogs from the wot runs??
and what about the difference in numbers?
i have muffler delete on my 09 sedan, so I guess I can expect 310hp at flywheel and about 320 tq from trifecta and about the same from HP tuners???

I currently have hPTuners on mine..and it works flawlessly...but we will see how things go with them over the winter as far as unlocking stuff...I plan on strapping a larger turbo to this thing next year and Trifecta seems to have more capabilities and updates more frequently...but if you're just shooting for a little over 300 at the wheels or so...either product will work very well.

well lets see. this is what trifecta has:
1) trifecta does all around tuning no matter what turbo is on your car
2) better if you want to do turbo swap as trifecta has unlocked fuel tables
3) cheaper
4) easy as hell to use

Disadvantage is you can't log and tweak on your own. Every mod you make that needs a tweak, you have to pay some more. Last I knew it was $75 a retweak. That was why I switched from Trifecta to HPT several months ago but I'll do it myself most of the time anyway if I am able. I hate trusting others to do anything to my stuff.

OK I'm just going to revive this thread and attempt to keep it as civil as possible. I will more than likely be doing a turbo swap next summer...nothing too crazy...a gt28 is about as far as I want to go...streetability is key to me. I was thinking about the synnapse kit but I realize there are a couple of other options out there as well as custom options. Which kit is secondary to which tuning option I select. HPT and Trifecta seem to be the only companies that have great tuning capabilities. My question is...which would be a better option. I DO NOT have the time to learn HPT myself and I don't know many people that have worked with HPT on a turbo swapped car. The only reason I'm thinking about going with Trifecta is because Vince is very skilled and has A LOT of cars tuned by his hands, and the EZ flash cable is pretty convenient. I don't know about a lot of you, but if I'm looking to get major work done on my vehicle that is going to stress many of its parts...I want someone with the most skill/knowledge/experience and best equipment to do it.
Any advise is appreciated...but like I said..please keep it civil...no unnecessary bashing.

both are really good. if you know how tune hp tuners is your best bet i think unless you know someone that gives you a deal on tunes. personally i run trifecta and i data log my own stuff with his program and if i need tweeks to him but you have to pay for it.

I'm looking at the Trifecta tune right now and waiting on my next paycheck to place an order for my GM Stage 1. So I'm kind of thrown in a loop right now. I might want do my own tune, save some money. I heard Clear Image (partner with Trifecta) could give you the software or the GT Tuner Handheld device to do it yourself, if I'm not mistaken. Is there any risk that might be involve if I don't go with the GM Stage 1 because the sensors are too sensitive? I know the Trifecta will be a factor in warranty, which I heard how good the tune is easy to hide and the GM Stage 1 ='s keeping your warranty.
