HPTuners, Getting Started..
ok so i just got it this morning, i installed it on my laptop, i got the MPVI pro as well, everything is installed, i have 8 GM credits, so now, what the **** do i do lol.. ???
i was told that i need to get a base file or something for an 09 cobalt ss, so i e-mailed bill at HPTuners, he asked my serial number, so i sent it to him, and nothing back yet. all i am trying to do is do some scanning of idling, cruising, and pulls on low and high. so, somebody help? please?

hook it up to your car and open the scanner, it will tell you dont have the license for your car if you try to scan. click on license info up top, use 2 credits to unlock it. you are home free now

Or use 6 credits if you want a model year license for all 09 Cobalt TC's. If memory serves, you can scan all you want without a license, but you can't save any tunes or edit them.
You need to build up a config file using the sensors & pid's for your car. The generic one isn't going to tell you a lot. Register at HPTuners.com/forums
There are a few threads you can learn a lot from over there.

On the HPtuners forum there is a thread about the LNF. However you already have a tune from Hahn, so you need to get the stock tune. you can copy the tune they put in, and post it to the repository. you can get another stock tune from the repository however it will not have your VIN#. I have had mine for 4 months and read 2-3X a day, many threads..... BYT and terminator are IMO the foremost knowledges on the LNF with HP tuners.
USE BYT'S PID.

Calm down calm down. I'm sure the guys at hahn can get you the stock file. OR if your cool with a locak GM dealer. Make a copy of the currently loaded file in your car. drive to them..... Have them load a stock file into your car. We both know it will not run very well, but just copy that file with HP tuners, and then reload your tuned file from Hahn. I know it's long but if you want a stick file then thats one way. In thery you don't need one for along time, unless you plan on converting yours back to stock for some crazy reason... LOL.

no lol,, ok, this is the only reason i bought HPTuners... i am NOT adjusting anything myself,, i dont want a stock tune, i just want to be able to do this,,, record logs at idle,, cruising, and WOT on low, and high,,, so i can e-mail hahn the files, they can fix whats wrong, they can e-mail me the corrected files, and i can put them in the car... thats all i want, cuz my **** wont stop overboosting and if i "lightly" get into the gas, and then stomp on it, it wont boost, it just stays at whatever PSI it was at before i stomped on it, its bullshit. i want a ****** tune that i can run however i want, on the gas a lil bit, or all the way to the floor without shuttin down. im honestly tired of it guys, my damn tune is just in need of some professional TLC.

Get hold of Terminator2, he'll prob hook you up with a config file and help you out some. He frequents the HPT forums as do a lot of good tuners. As was posted before, there is a few LNF threads that are very helpful over there. HPT is not plug and play. You have to be willing to learn how to use it or pay someone that can.

So wait lemme get this straight...you're going to log your car's stuff...send them the logs...and they will fix your tune using HPTuners? Why would Hahn be using HPTuners and not their own software like they run on the PPC tuner? Or maybe I'm just weird and don't understand something...
