i hate cobalts

so last night i left to get some food. pulled out of my sub got to third pushed into boost and got up to 20psi or so and car sputtered CEL came on and idled like ****.

today i unplugged my MAF disconnected the battery to reset the code then started it. started great idled great then restarted with the MAF in and **** so unplugged it started and all is good. until i take it for a spin and no boost at all. will not go into it at all. checked what i could for leaks but idk exactly where they all would be. only mods are dejon hard piping k&n drop in and trifecta

anyone in the area wanna bring their lnf over so i can use ur maf to see if thats the issue

What was the code? Unless a charge pipe came completely off you should get some kind of boost, so I say its not a leak. Probly bad maf

Check and see what the code is for the CEL, A local autozone could tell you if you dont have/know anyone with a scanner. Then you should know what is wrong and what to fix.

Yep ur right it was a p0101 double checked for leaks the entire charge pipe blew off the throttle body.
Replaced and back to 24psi with no codes and idle better so this must of been a problem for a while and finally blew off. Thanks bud

I already knew what the code meant I just couldn't figure out no boost because it never went into limp so I assumed a bad maf caused no boost

My friend had a 30r on his LNF and it blew the charge piping off when it hit 25psi one time. Left a dollar coin size dent about 1/8 high in his hood.

Been there, done that. Learned the value of tbolt clamps real quick (btw hahn says their worm clamps are fine.. BS). Nice dent in my hood now, when it happened I swore I blew the engine! That is not something you miss lol.

Yes it was a big ass boom. But again I didn't think it was piping I thought I was my turbo. Lol but yeah I'm happy it was minor. I will be ordering some heavy duty clamps.

I love threads like this. Immediate anger towards the car...ends up being the owner's fault.

It won't go into limp mode because of a leak. I had the infamous "radiator bolt pierces the charge piping" (should read a crater into your charge piping with the size of the hole I had) issue and beyond having less HP than an Aveo and my boost refusing to go above 1/2 PSI, the car ran normal....just felt sluggish as ****. At least you threw a CEL, mine set a code but no CEL...turbo system performance something, can't remember the exact code anymore, but it was horrible .
