i'm afraid of the corn

was just about ready to take the plunge and do up an E-47 blend corn tune.
i have hp tuners and was gonna do it myself. problem is i'm basically all stock. (have a kn drop in and a catless downpipe). i am really worried about my stock clutch (i am already getting a little slip in 3rd). also wondering about how high i can rev. people seem to be breaking lifters, rockers, etc.. car runs strong now, but i want that little extra the corn can give. am i being too greedy? or too scared?? lol. any corn blend users out there care to comment??? thanks, skip.

I think E85 is actually easier on the motor. Burns cooler and suppresses knock. The only time you may have issues is in real low temps. Clutch slip is just a way of life. Dont go punching it under 3500 in 3rd and above til u get a better clutch

E47 with catless do and k&n drop in here, ramping the boost helps with the clutch slip and just shift at 6200. Easy as pie and it makes a huge difference.

Stock springs are good to around 6800. My redline is 7k but i rarely shift there, usually around 6500-6800. Ppl floating vavles is whats causing all these rocker problems were seeing

You'll be fine on corn. Like mentioned, ramping boost and fuel pressure helps a lot. I wish I had E85 around here

And I've knocked my rev limiter back down from 7000RPM to 6500RPM after I saw all the recent posts of over-revs and breaking rockers and popping lifters. Once I get ZZP's valve springs, I'll probably bump it back up again.

so you guys are saying i should go for it?? i was gonna set my dals back to stock
and use some GMPP tables to control the boost. probably set my rev limits to 6700 or 6800 for all gears.

Go for it! If you are worried about the clutch limit the boost to 20 psi below 3500 and ramp it up above there.

Never had a cold starting issue until I got around 70% E on mine, E47 is the sweet spot on the LNF.

27* advance up top is pretty fast. I hit my 4.4 sec 60 - 100 on E47 last fall. I set the rev limiter at 6500 and never hit it just to be safe on the valve float.

6.75 per 13.5 gals.

Just fill up 1:1, 5 gals of E85 & 5 gals 93 or 91 whatever you have there.

Easier on the motor? Yes. Easier on your clutch? Absolutely not. Although I've always suspected my OEM clutch was on the weakerr side. Kind of a dud. Back when I was using HPTuners, I tried everything and my clutch still slipped on the dyno at like 329wtq and wouldn't hold more. Now with Trifecta on the E-blend...I get lots of slip and it made 337wtq with some nice curly Qs in my dyno graph...I've just been procrastinating on ordering my KY clutch.

i'm gonna set my rev limits to 6500. how do i limit the boost below 3500? use the rpm per gear table? i'm gonna need your help on the timing table.

I'll email you my tune tonight, you can steal the turbo & timing tables from it as a starting point. If you don't get it by say 8pm, remind me.

I was on the GMS1 sensors and others that have imported them boosted around 22 on the stock sensors & tune so you may have to cut them back some. I posted some screen shots in HPT yesterday for a guy asking about boost. Some of the tables are there.

Keep your MAF freq & correction tables, richen the inj constant by multiplying positive ~15% for a start, dump in 6.75 gals of E and fill the rest with 93. Should be damn close on the LTFT's if you are already. Trim the inj constant to suit.

Your indicated MPG on the DIC will go UP changing the injector constant but your actual MPG will go down. Nature of the beast. Must be the way the info is passed from ECM to BCM was all we could figure during the testing.

I know that's what HPT advises, never had an issue with a 12v charging adapter in the car.
YMMV.
