Hey Tom, great build BTW. Very well and tastefully done sir. You gonna go with a 445 trans for this or have you decided? Not sure what your running now.

tomj77 11-02-2016 01:27 PM

I got 4.05 , 445 is to hard to get. The s257 wont be as hard on the trans as the zfr.

tomj77 11-02-2016 01:30 PM

Thanks btw. As i go i think of new ways to clean it up so i do em lol it cost a bit after awhile but it looks good

LNFwagonSS 11-02-2016 02:11 PM

I'll have my 4.45 up for sale soon if your interested. The 445 will compliment your setup quite well in terms of power delivery. Regardless, i would like to see how well the 4.05 works for you with that setup before changing anything.

tomj77 11-02-2016 03:40 PM

Ya i dont got the cash for anothet trans lol not at this point anyway

Finished making my oil drain, if anyone is running a a big turbo and wanting a an10 braided. Stainless line with an ends, on the s257 and probably 256 and 259 the line needs 1 45 degree end one straight and has to be exactly 10.5 inch from end to end. Can get the an10 drain fitting from treadstone

tomj77 11-20-2016 09:10 PM

I did originally have a braided nylon line but it didnt work out, i used the reusable end from that line to make myself a custom braided stainless line which worked well once i clocked the center section so it was pointed straight down, i had it angled back a bit before which made it impossible to use stainless, but all fixed now

they would have to run your setup exactly. The reality of it is that different exhaust housings can vary and place the center cartridge in different spots. The fittings are one thing but the length should be determined by the person in the car unless they run the same setup.

I have used a multitude of different lines. Even cheaper russell pushlock hose with thermal wrap. -10 is the way to go for sure for turbos of this size.

ya this is true. only for 257 on zzp manifold then I guess lol. But I still recommend making ur own stainless braided line with the reusable fittings, very easy and cheap to do. can find good prices at summit. best part about using braided stainless rather than just rubber, the stainless line pushes the oilpan side fitting down so there is no movement or risk of leaks. you have to screw it onto the fitting before u put the fitting in the drain hole.

ya I don't know why I had it that way lol it looked straight but it was like a few degrees off. I just kept it loose till line went on then tightened it there. ended up being straighter. guess I need glasses lol I really do.

cause I don't like cranking up my radio to drown out certain noises I don't want to hear, like gas tank sloshing, rocks hitting under the car cause I drive a lot of gravel roads. and yes, the exhaust can get annoying on long trips, I love it with the windows down and all, but sometimes, I just want it quieter on a longer trip. my reasons, don't have to like em, but that's what they are

tomj77 12-03-2016 11:39 AM

yes its dynamat

tomj77 12-03-2016 11:45 AM

amazon.ca had it for 266 for enough for entire car, and now its down to 212. some people may think its dumb, but lets face it, especially if u have to drive gravel, there are some noises u just get tired of hearing. even the exhaust hum can get annoying on long drives. so no I got the option, open the window and hear what I like, or close it and have it quieter if I want.

Valid reasons, I purposely don't drive on gravel and am lucky I don't have to. My exhaust drone is pretty quiet inside the car, as I'm running a resonator and a muffler but I understand the need.

I am as well, the drone isn't to loud but after listening to it for an hour or more, it just gets annoying lol. I like it for only so long. ya gravel sucks.

Snail_SS 12-03-2016 12:24 PM

Nice I've been wanting to do something like that

That's a pretty good price. Totally worth it, I need to do drop some funds into some dynamat and the foam they sell also, double layering it really makes a difference

tomj77 12-03-2016 01:56 PM

Do it man. And it only adds like 20 lbs if u use the entire car kit. They have alot of good products and excellent reviews on all
