Injen CAI

Hey guys, just had a simple question about the CAI....you can slightly see the filter if you look down between my bumper and headlights...my question is when it rains and stuff, will water going down into that opening affect my filter or will my filter be sucking in water?? sorry if this is dumb but i kina worried me yesterday and i was curious...thanks in advance for any answers

You could have that problem when you wash the car. Some have had that issue with Injens and AEMs intakes.

For the most part you should be good, unless driving thru puddles. They will suck in water. Buddy's neighbor had a nissan with a CAI like that, big rain fall, started his car sucked up water. Doesn't run.

But anyways normal driving shouldn't be bad, just watch puddles

i'm not really sure why everyone gets all excited about this really...the stock inlet was down there, and with the suction force a turbo makes on the intake the stock one could prolly suck in water too...

besides if ur driving in rain and water comes in that way, it's gotta get sucked in, hit the REALLY hot turbo turbine - which will prolly burn it right away, go all the way through ur intercooler piping and through the intercooler itself before it even hits the engine

personally i think it's fine i wouldn't worry, but like someone else said i would avoid the really big puddles...that could potentially create an issue...but drops coming in from that crack - i think ur safe

i have the same intake i haven't had any issues yet

There was one guy said when he washed his car the high pressure water went under the headlight wetting the filter and got his maf wet. I ordered a hydroshield for mine should help some I drove in light rain over the weekend do not have shield yet no issues.

The maf does not like water the least bit, get some on it and it's shot. Pick up a hydro shield and you will be more than fine
