installing aftermarket gauges
im gonna be installing some aftermarket gauges and i was wondering if i can piggy from the ignition/ground from the stock boost gauge wires in the ss/tc
Where'd you get your gauges from ?
Thanks
you shouldn't be buying gauges if you dont know why you need them. The A Pillar come off with a screw underneath the little part that says AIRBAG. It's not the airbag, it's just a cover for the screw. remove that and the A pillar comes right off. as Maven said, the pink/red wire is the power wire. Splice into that and you're good. SUKXOST, I can't recall where i bought my gauges. I clicked on the link provided by autometer.com to list their vendors and bought from one of them.
you can piggy but too many will cause the fuse to blow i reccomend getting just the boost and afr gauge since hpt has a catalyst exhaust temperature already in it if you plan on using them. otherwise yea your good.
no tan pillars that i have seen, must paint them i will have this same problem too.

i had six on the same lighting fuse and ignition on my talon with no problems. im only putting a water temp and oil pressure on my ss besides the boost. so that shouldnt be a problem. and yes i know i got water temp in the display thing whatever its called. but i want a guage i can see. and im not spending the money for the wideband and such canse i dont need em im not modding my car much just basic stuff. my talon was amoney pit, im not gonna spend everything i have on modding anymore. lol
But ya it shoudnt be to hard to find what wires u need from the boost gauge, get a volt meter and unplug the boost gauge, stick the prob into the the plug ports and see where u constant is when ignision is on, and what one comes on when u turn on lights, and black is usually black so thats all ull need .

While on topic of gauges has anyone thought of installing a wide-band air/fuel ration gauge to tap into the stock wide band on ours cars so whe can monitor the parameters? The first 02 sensor on our TC's are a lambda wide-band A/F ratio sensor
Get an Interceptor gauge and you won't need to tap into anything
2: If you wanna get truly technical, sensor 1 on the LNF isnt a wide-band. Its a narrow band with a pumping cell. Calling it a wideband is a surefire way to **** of an engineer.
True wideband sensors go for around $1000.
