Intercooler CO2 sprayer

Has anyone thought about one of these CO2 intercooler sprayers that cool the intake air by spraying liquid CO2 on the intercooler, and what are your thoughts on it? Do you think it really works?

i think it might get into the intake but maybe not if its at the track and be able to clear the fumes out of the engine bay

CO2 displace oxygen so if it gets in the intake than it will rob some power from you just like revhigh18 said. i was thinking of a solution, just a dream, but i see alot of hondas using the headlight to funnel in air. If you could "hollow" out the headlight connect a tube through the headlight and run it to a SRI.

I seen one kit where it sprays water on the intercooler then sprays the CO2 to freeze the water then you dont have any being sprayed during your run. also nitrous express uses n2o to cool the intercooler how would that work, and how cold is n2o?

As the poster mentioned, this is to be sprayed ON the intercooler....not in....it would serve no function if it were being sprayed in.

As a gas expands, it cools...its a fundamental law in physics....so the logic behind this is that you spray condensed CO2 on the surface of the intercooler and it cools it down dramatically and in turn creates lower intake temps.....its the same effect as if you put a bag of ice on an intercooler.

And to answer the posters question, it would help. They are great for drag racing to cool down the charge air before you run or dyno's since you get a lot of heat build up during runs. They can bring an intercooler down temperature a signifigant amount.

Once you are moving however, they dont have too much impact since the moving cools the charge air down a fair amount on its own.

I am not sure how our learn down feature would affect any gains on a stock setup but with a tune I am sure you will see quite an improvement....especially on a dyno.
