Its about time!
So I got some great news this morning. GM finally came through and sent my dealer the Saab pads to replace my rear pads. I gave my dealer this idea about a month ago and they said they would look into it but nothing ever came of it. According to my dealer GM just called them out of the blue and gave them the same order to use Saab pads and then sent them the appropriate parts. GM finally came through...Im guessing this will be the fix GM will use until the new supplier is up and running. I know some of you have already done this fix yourself, but its nice to know GM is actually approving it.
My intake camshaft sensor also came in, so Im bringing my car in tomorrow and will finally be getting everything fixed!!!
Front rotors, rear pads and rotors, and the sensor should all be fixed tomorrow!

Because they said they had never done anything like that, and probably couldnt do it. Then GM sent them the Saab pads and instructed them to replace the defective SS/TC pads with them...so they listened.
My service writer told me the same crap when I told him that they were going to have to get the Saab pads to replace mine. Thank God whoever took the order for my parts actually know what was going on. I hope mine stops leaking oil now but I would not bet on it since I dont think they have a tick enough oring on there. If it leaks again I might just tear it apart myself and at least attempt to fix it. I have access to a lot of different sized orings so I might be able to stop the leak myself.
It is good that they finally got your parts in though. I was annoyed to say the least waiting two months for my new sunroof glass (leaked air like crazy even at slow speeds) to come in so I feel for you.
It is ok man. We all have those kind of days. Last week, I had one day where I could not focus at all.
Have you checked under your high pressure fuel pump near your flat chargepipe for the oil leak that seems to be happening to all the TCs. You will need a flashlight to see it.

Yep it is usually very minor. I am very good at spotting leaks and i did not see it until that thread started on it, and showed me exactly where to look. It sucks and seems like almost all the people that have looked have found it leaking. If you have less than 5000 mi there will be only a little down there. Checkout the thread in this section on it. Camsahft Sensor Issue is the title.

Link to thread? I'm curious.
Just got my car back. Its so nice to have quiet brakes again!!! Everything its fixed, the replaced the recalled front rotors, replaced the rear pads and machined the rear rotors, and replaced the sensor. Heres to hoping everything stays fixed haha
the rear pads are the ones that were an issue and finally replaced with Saab pads. Neither the rear calipers nor pads are brembos. Only the front calipers are brembo, and the only issue with the front was the stock rotors warping which doesnt have anything to do with Brembo.
recalled front rotors?
yup....the recall was issued in like July I think. If you go into your dealer and tell them you drive an 08 SS it should pop up in there computer to replace the rotors. I went in because of the back brakes and when I was there they told me there was a recall on the front rotors because many complaints of steering vibration due to the rotors warping.
