JL4 not equal to G85
JL4 not equal to G85
For a while I was wondering if traction control was an option on the 08/09 SS/TC because when you go to chevy.com the option listed says "differential, stability control system" so I figured if you had the button, you had the LSD. Im sure many of you know that this is not true. I honestly can't believe that GM would make LSD an option still. Well, I have stability control button and on my spec sheet I have JL4 (stability control system) but no G85... Im disappointed, to say the least. I havent run into any problems so far seeing that I only drive around town, but I wanted to Auto Cross with this car eventually and i know i can control the car in a straight line at the track, but NEVER around a corner with out LSD. Sooo this leads me to my question.. Can LSD be added to the car if it doesnt have it as a factory option, using factory LSD or aftermarket? Or do I just need a new transmission?
yeah exactly my point, i really wanted to auto cross.. but yeah im glad that I can add it. I just wonder if my tranny were to blow up..... would GM (for $495) put in a tranny with LSD hahaha under warrenty.
$600 seems low for labor if you're talking about just putting in an LSD. That's IF you can find a shop willing to touch the F35. 95% of shops WILL NOT service that transmission. When you find one that will service it, they're going to charge an arm and a leg. Cheapest way to go would just be to buy an LSD equipped transmission and put it in yourself.
