Just bought used cobalt sstc

Hello fellow motorheads. Just purchased a slightly used cobalt sstc sedan and I heard about this forum so I decided to check it out. The car came with a factory tune and is pretty quick. It also has an aftermarket shifter (it's aluminum looking) and has no muffler, just a straight 3in pipe. its got about 25k on it, and runs great. look forward to the info I get here, peace, Pogo

Talking Congrats ! Is it yellow, by chance ?

Fewer of those made than any of the other colors.

I like the user name, BTW - does that reference a M1 Garand by any chance ?

Enjoy , although I suspect that thing is a tad louder than stock - takes some of the fun of stealth away ...

^ Absolutely, black rims are sexy looking on black cars. I'm going to get mine powder coated black.

the M1 garand is the greatest battle impliment ever devised. Or so Patton says.

thanks again guys,
so from what i have read about non factory tunes, it seems like this trifecta and hp tune keep coming up and something about a combo tune where the two of them are kinda combined?? any short opinions on the choices?

got the factory tune already in there. i'm just looking for around 300whp/325wtrq. no real bolt ons currently just chopped muff and short shifter. thinking of maybe a k and n drop in but dont know if that will enhance anything>

and another criteria concerning choice is safety and reliability of tune and maybe if it can be hidden as well!! yikes

Do you still have the stock downpipe on the car? If so , get an aftermarket dp. The stock dp is restrictive.

stock dp

Got a stock dp, but I heard its not that restrictive. Only the catless dp with tune will make a hp difference? Any boost creep/spike issues during colder temps? how bout the whp gain? Cuz I was thinkin of just getting tune with stock dp, hopefully that will work for 300whp/low 3's tq

was under car

Ok was under my balt lookin around and I noticed how the tranny mount didn't look very stock. It was shiny looking and looked diffent than the mount in the rear? I was told about the factory tune, and the muff delete and short shifter were obvious, but this tranny mount not too sure about. I figured there was stuff done to car that I wasn't told about but that's cool. So I was just wonderin if the tranny mount is something u guys replace in this car. This mount is bolted into frame and 2 bolts go into trans. Maybe this can explain the stiff bracing feel between shifts?? Finding out more about this car everyday and you guys are helping me a bunch, thanx
