K&N Intake Video
The intake itself bolts to that mount, keeping it rocking with the engine. I'm sure you could do without it, but it shows that they didn't take a sample of cars to see if it would fit? That plate/bolt setup is weird. Neither of my 09's had that.
Whats interesting is if you look at the orignal GM media pictures of the LNF for the cobalt, that plate+bolts is there. Something tells me that made a switch really early in the 08's away from that?

One would think with these things all being built on the same assembly line that they would all have the same parts strapped to the engine...However...GM does not believe in that concept
Mine does not have that...Way 2 go K&N...first day on the market and it already needs a revision.

LOL I wonder how much of an easy fix it is going the be , they are going to have to design a whole new bracket . Why the hell wouldn't K&N look at multiple cars , it's like a science project , you have to gather the variables.
LMAO, I checked under the hood of my 09 SS/TC (got it since 11/23/09) and looked what I've found

so if someone doesn't want their KN Intake, let me know I love to do a trade.

Whats interesting is if you go to GM Parts Direct, they only list one VC for the TC and their diagram shows no plate. Also I took a look at some Kappa chassis engine pics I could find, and they also lacked the plate.
