Here are some pics that I found of the stock turbo. I believe it is from a Sky or Solstice. I can't take credit for these, I got them from Intense racing.

I was looking around the the solstice forums and with a tune it looks like they make around 270HP and no other mods.

Usually around 250-265hp all stock with tune.
All supporting mods has made 290's on our most powerful forum member's car with the stock turbo.
One memeber even put down 390wtrq using lots and lots of psi and the stock turbo.

This turbo on their cars should get them into the 300's like they hoped.

So in theory we should be making about 315-325hp with tune and turbo only. Not to bad.

Not bad at all really! The best part is the ability to run up to 7400RPM!

I think the 7400rpm would be kick ass, but has anyone proven that our stock valve train can handle that for prolonged use.

I think that there are Redline/GXP owners running them that high. I don't know what you mean by prolonged use but, if you are smart about it you should be OK. However, the OEM cams/springs/head would be holding you back a bit once you run it that high.

Well what I mean is if you do 10 or so runs per session at the track threw a season, plus dyno sessions. I hope it will hold up I am just looking for the most reliable power. I guess we will see when we get there.

we have 20,000 miles of senseless asswhoop on our mule, mostly with a Gt3076R. It's been running up to 7400 for this whole season and never given a whimper.
I would estimate that it sees max rpm 4-10 times/day.

Most of us have been running at least 7k rpm. I dont sustain the RPM roadrace style, more like dragracing.
Somone who plans on roadracing with 20+ minute heats/features should consider valvtrain upgrades.

BTF, do you have anything in the works for valve train upgrades?

my last motor in the ss/tc i blew up. blew up right around 7200 rpm. smacked a valve and broke piston. so the new motor was built a little different and better. but im keeping it at a red line of 6700.

but then again, when you pop a motor and have very close clearence tolerances as the 2.0lnf has. no real answer on what caused it to smack the valve.

Any thing is an improvement over were the stock turbo runs out of breath. 7400 is pretty high i hope we never have any trouble running the stock valve train up that high because power up that high makes me happy.

IM working on the external blow off charge pipes/intake combo for you guys right now.
They will sound like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkKlEA1_DSU

New Era will have them availible beginning next week.

Shortly after I'll have before/after dyno runs with Joe's car and the Borgwarner compressor upgrade.

That camera can't even describe how good that BOV sounds...I'm 100% sure it sounds A LOT better in person...I hate how cameras distort the sound of everything (exhaust, BOV, etc...)

agreed....anyone look into upgrading to a t28? i havent done the research but if you type in k04 on ebaymotors they list t28's as a bolt on upgrade.......they wont make serious power but if they're a bolt on upgrade it wont be expensive either........with the new manifold synapse has designed i'm on the fence if i want to keep my car bpu or if i want to really turn up the power with a turbo upgrade and other stuff.....my original goal was low 12's but i can see these doing much better next year.......

Has anyone talked about about t3t4 up grades yet? I prefer that because it is so damn cheap and abundant for some good power. I traded a guy that upgrades t3's 4 of them for a free newly built never ran t3t4 60 trim turbo for my cavalier. I got 3 of them for free and one I paid 50 bucks for. I don't know if it is still this way(that was like 8 years ago) but I am sure I could still track the guy down.

Anything other than the GM specific KO4 likely wont bolt up. a T-28 most definitly wont bolt up, and it also wont have your Bypass valve.

I think you should be more patient and wait for a good company to come out with parts. Don't wast money on something that only ads a little power just so you can have something now.

Hahn already has their's in the 12's, you can do better than bolting on a turbo. If you don't need supporting mods for this bolt on, then it's probably not worth the power gain.
