KY Stage 3

Got my KY stage 3 clutch. Just had a few questions regarding the clutch and TOB. I just want to make sure I got all the right parts for my car and if these few nicks on the clutch are okay...

I just installed my stage 3 ky clutch over the weekend and love it so far. If you plan on taking the flywheel off, buy new flywheel bolts. Buy a new clutch pipe and replace that.

Those Knicks are ok. They'll go back down when pressured. If worried get into contact with chris at ky clutch. Throwout bearing is fine it's the saab/Lsj throwout bearing. Same **** as LNf. It travels the same, same all around.

I plan on getting new flywheel bolts. The guy from KY said I shouldn't need a new clutch pipe cause I'm 2010 and I should be okay. Are you using regular transmission oil from the dealer?

Perfect, I believe you lol. This is just my first clutch install and just wanted to make sure everything looked okay before we started the surgery lol.

Any recomendations on install? My mechanic will be installing and I'm going to forward it to him if he has any questions on anything etc.

yeah, i used 2 qts lnf fluid 88862472. the pipe is very inexpensive and you might not need to change it, but if for some reason it doesnt seal correctly do you wanna break it all back apart for a $8 part? its really not that bad of an install if you take your time.

I'll have to check it out then. I can't do the install myself, I don't have the tools or hardware for that kind of install in my garage. I'll be honest, I don't trust myself doing something like that yet.

Mine was pristine when I received it. No nicks or anything like that. Just FYI.

Just to make sure everything is okay here. Three of pucks are softer surface than the other three on the same side. You can look at the color grain in the pics

I don't remember mine being like that either. You'd have to look in the clutch guide at the photo... But you WILL see how perfect it was.

Isn't the Stage 2 the clutch that has two different types of materials, kevlar and something else?

The knicks are just extra noise makers lol

I saw your pic and it looked like all the pucks are the same. I need to call KY so they can confirm the clutch is okay to be installed. I'm sure it is I'm probably just trippen out.

I wouldn't put it in like that. It's so much of a pain to put a clutch in, you might as well start with perfect parts. I'm thinking that I'm not settling for any less than an LNF TOB, either.

Like i stated before those knicks will flatted out. Once the pressure plate is put on it will flatten them. and it is totally fine. The throwout bearing like ive stated 1234567890 times, ( there is not difference, people say the lnf extends out further. Well it doesnt. We put a stock lnf to a lsj and saab up all together. ride length was the same (if there is a difference i def didnt see it). Honestly, lnf throwout bearing seem to be bad alot . Ive replaced lnf throwout bearings like there nothing when installing new ones. bECAUSE THE SEAL IN THEM IS ****.. Gm had a bad batch of them, and apparently they are still selling them!

Those are not my concerns right now. It's only the pucks that i'm concerned about. They're not all the same i just want to make sure my clutch is supposed to be like that.

I don't know, James. If there was no difference in them, their wouldn't be two part numbers. Changing part numbers just to remove a dust boot? Doesn't sound right to me. Until I see some facts, I want an LNF TOB.
