Looks like we can't go over 2500psi on the fuel pump without popping a code.

This has great information that can be taken from it for tuning purposes, such as proper max/min bounds for certain settings.

One more vote for it to be a sticky!

I think he might be refering to the "traction off" indicator on the dash.. the only thing I could chalk it up to.. I guess it could look like a CEL if you didn't realize what it was

its the electronic stability control ,yellow triangle with a car and squiggle tire marks behind the car its to aid in maintaining directional control of the vehicle . then where the milage shows up it says service esc its an 09 with only 4,000 miles on it wtf

How long has it been on for? Have you had the car dynoed recently? Reason I ask is because the esc sensors (or whatever they are called exactly) in the rear wheels will go a little nutty from dyno pulls (do to the rear wheels not moving but the ECM registering you flying down the road at 130mph) and display a "service esc" on the dash but should reset shortly after the pull.. If not, then it just sounds like the ECM isn't getting a signal an ESC sensor(s) from somwhere.. Just a guess, either way I would do like Reign1 says and take it to get checked out..

I have got that same thing once after pounding through some corners. It just says service esc and no cel appears.

P1589 is not an active code for Cobalt and does not exist in the overall master code list for any GM car or truck. Please check the code again.
