If you are going to go that far, why not do Clevite Bearings, and some Carillo Rods, and the gorgeous wiseco's?

If I am going to take the engine apart, I am gonna be redoing it the right way. Even if it means holding off for a month or 2 to save the cash up.

ding ding ding.. you win the prize my friend. My thoughts exactly but somehow my post must have been ignored or overlooked. Why go through all of that work and trouble to NOT build a sound motor, if not for anything else but piece of mind.

Do you mind if I ask who the "idiot" might be? By no means am I trying to be a dick but hopefully you don't think someone making a logical comment about something as sensable as upgrading the rods in a motor build as being an "idiot".

My point since the beginning of this thread, and many other threads. But, people don't understand. I mean, its absolutely fine to leave the stock rods, if you 100% plan on staying on the stock turbo. But, we all know how the mod bug works, you just can't stop.

Also, to anyone just doing pistons... don't try to pass your motor off as a built motor.

No, they do not. You should use the Clevite bearings, they are the best ones out there.

I use Clevite tri-metal bearings in all my builds (if I can find them) Cleavite tri-metal are not as easy to find as they use to be, some of there applications that were tri-metal have been switched to bi-metal.

Im not looking for 500 hp fwd car. I wasnt about to spend 1000 bucks on rods when the stock rods will hold up fine to the stock turbo. Im not saying this is a built motor by anymeans i had a piston failure and just wanted a motor that can make good power but i dont have to drive around on slicks with.
