A Intake system to work with a suncoast bonet as pictured here







Anyone know of a company out there making what im looking for

 

i dunno but i really like that hood, who makes that?

edit: nvm not a fucntioning hood scoop in the front...... weak

 

suncoast makes it and yes it functioning cant you see the under side shot?

 

the 2 lil vents isnt tech functioning bc the big hood scoop isnt.

 

do you see the big hole to the left hand side and the direction of curves to the scoop? this is a true ram air hood

I think this would be awesome on an LNF car

Maybe have them measure the distance from the edge of the hood to the hole then measure edge of engine bay to the filter area.

It worked on 2.2 and 2.4 cars. Why can't a "tunnel" of sorts be made to ram air into the stock filter location.

Can you get in touch with that company and see if they could find a test car really quick.

If they could make it fit directly over the original intake box it would be an awesome upgrade. Probably add 10 HP and look amazing.

I meant if someone got them a test car to fit, the change to make an LNF hood would be really quick for them.

 

also, awesome for hahn turbocharged LSJ's. i plan on getting this hood.

 

I remember a 2.2 getting like 6HP from the hood on a N/A car. So a turbo car should gain a lot more.

 

yea. being turbod its not so much of a ram air, but getting the fresh COLD air is the major gain point.

 

i talked to him last year and the alignment was right on with the lnf cars when you buy the hood built for old 2.2 and 2.4... i think this will be my purchase with more then likly home built intake designed to suck up to that opening for 100% gain...... i will most likly buy this in june. depends on the stage kit


the vents will also help the heat side cause of where the turbo is located and maybe make the bypass valve sound louder

 

stage kit wont come with an CAI or SRI

this wil lbe useless (or less useful) for a CAI

As far as I know, that hood is only "functional" for 2.2's/2.4's with ram air intakes. I mean the rear vents will extract heat from any model Cobalt regardless, but the center primary scoop feeds air to the right side of the motor (from the driver's perspective, not looking at it head on), which is where the filter is located on aftermarket short ram intakes for 2.2's/2.4's.
