loose turbo heat sheild !! what to do ??

So the heat sheild on my turbo is really loose. I'm not too sure why. It doesn't look too rusted at all. But yet it's really loose and vibrates a lot and makes an annoying noise. Son my question is , has anyone removed their heat shield ? I would like to keeping on. Obviously to keep heat away from the rest of the bay as much as possible. But the noise is killing me. Is there a way anyone has re-seured them tightly ? Or his anyone just plain ripped it out with out any I'll effects. Or performance issues due to the heat from the turbo with the heat sheild removed ?

I know there are two up top. But where is the third one. It must not be easily visible. Cause my heat shield i flapping in the wind. I think the third bolt hole rusted out under neath where you can't see it .

If the back is loose, just take it off, there is one bolt in back, hard to get to tho.

Will it be bad for under the hood temps ?? Or shirt performance any at all ?? I believe the bolt at the back is rushed out and pulled threw the heat sheild. Only the top two are holding it on now. So I guess I will just remove it. I just want to make sure it won't hurt anything else . Like make my account not as cold. Or raise my under hood temps a crazy amount ?

Well I ended up having to cut the heat shield in half with tin snips. And it was in really good shape. Except around then three bolt holes. The back one ended up rusting totally through and the heat sheild pulled over the bolt. And now that its off and the noise is gone I'm happy !! Lol ... but I will say after driving to work this morning. And checking the turbo area. There is a crazy amount of heat coming from the turbo. I almost wonder if it is a must to have a heat shield with ac line being right over top of the turbo . As well as an abs sensor wire and a few other odds and ends. I hope this doesn't cause a problem.

Ac line should cool the turbo lol jk. I don't think any guys have had issues with turbo heat. Remember when u drive there is air flow going up there from under the car.

That's a good point. I never thought of that. I just like to worry too much ! Lol ... I would think the turbo itself might actually run a bit cooler without the heat sheild trapping the heat and heating it up even more ??

Maybe. Mine doesn't seem any hotter than it was before back there and I don't got no manifold shield either. I was worried as well but I figured if others doing it are fine , I guess it's fine lol

You do not wanr the exhaust housing to ruin cooler. The turbo runs off of heat AND exhaust. The heat helps draw the gas out and spin the wheel faster and more efficiaently. That's why people put thick ass tuebo blankets on the turbo, not nessesarily to keep under hood temps down. Although, that is a byproduct. Why do you think peopke wrap a long tube header, or down pipe? Same reason. I wrapped my turbo manifold and downpipe and had a thick blanket for the turbine. That thing spooled amazingly..
