Loss of Power and Boost
So like the title says, this morning driving to work I had a loss of power and boost. I HAD NOT been driving it hard, just cruising on the highway at about 80mph.
After getting off the highway I was stuck behind somebody slow, so I was at a steady 30mph in 3rd gear.
All of the sudden the accelerator got really heavy, like there was a lot of resistance when pressing it.
I knew it didnt feel right, so I tried to accelerate a little bit to see what it would do.
It was real sluggish and I could only make between 0-5psi of boost.
The strange thing is I got NO reduced engine power light, NOR did I get a CEL.
It resolved on its on before I got to work, and lasted only about 2mins total.
Any thoughts? I checked the charge piping (which is stock) and it looks fine, no obvious defects. I also checked the intake (Dejon SRI) and everything it tight there.

Maybe you werent wearing your seatbelt. HA No clue man. Sounded EXACTLY like what happened to mine at the track one time but I broke a fuel pump sensor and the reduced engine power light came on. Could NOT get over 5lbs even standing on it. Accelerated very slow. Had to baby it like 50 miles home
i posted something the other day where the car was fine, then i came out of a hard corner, and suddenly the car would only boost up to 15psi rather then 22ish. It stayed like that for the few mile drive home, but when i drove it like 2 hours later, it was fine. no lights or codes. Also when I first got the car for about 6-8k miles the car would surge. The RPD guage would show the boost, and HP alike fluctuating. It would basically jump up 50hp then lose about 25hp, then jump up another 50hp and lose another 25. I took the car in multiple times, and noone could figure it out. It got to one check-up before lemon law, and suddenly the car fixed itself, and drove fine for about 6 months til it did it for one day and then was fine again. To this day noone has been able to tell me what the problem was, so if you figure it out let me know. And to clarify, I have NEVER thrown a code or light of any kind since I bought the car with 7 miles on it.
Lots of strange issues happening to stage 1 cars lately. Most of them likely due to an issue with the installation of the MAPs especially the lower MAP. Scan the car, CEL could be pending and the MIL will not be lit yet.
I had this issue out of hard corner as well, but mine had some kind of error like, "Check ESC" or something like that on the odometer display. It made my car run like **** for 10-15 minutes, then eveything was fine. It only happened one time in the past 6 months. Idunno. It's just a Cobalt, afterall.
Yeah, I havent gotten a chance to get up to the shop I used to work at to scan it.
However, its been running fine since the single incident.
